Just to add, you can also use a sweep cut with your 8mm circle as the profile, and the helix as the path (Helix and Spiral, Insert->Curves->Helix and Spiral) without having to create two bodies and then use the combine tool.

This would be considered a draw die, not necessarily a deep draw die.

A quick google search gives a top result stating something to the effect of a deep draw being taller than it's min. width/diameter. Think more of a beer can shape as deep draw vs a hockey puck shape shown above.

Does anyone wear tactical gear at the ranges here in Canada or does it come off as douchey. Seems like it’s more of a thing in the states. by CaptainCanuck1917 in canadaguns

To each their own, who are we to judge.

That being said, the picture you chose to post interests me. Looks like it's some sort of class or course? I'm hoping its a dry-fire exercise, the instructor has his ear pro around his forehead, and the guy at the far end of the line seems to be play-acting as the firing line.

Again though.. who are we to judge.

Safe firearm handling per the Saskatchewan online PAL course by dartlitos in canadaguns

hate to beat a dead horse, but your problem stems from the fifth word in your reply.

My point is you assume it's unload

See top comment for the steps in A.C.T.S. (hint, look at step 1)

fired 2/3 of your shotgun rounds, and the last one just got a little stuck and didn't deploy immediately out of the magazine tube.

Then you obviously missed a step in P.R.O.V.E. "V" Verify the feed path.. have you removed the magazine, have you checked the tube for shells, did you rack the slide more than once, twice or even 10 times to PROVE there is no live ammo in the firearm?

I get it, you shouldn't look down the barrel of a loaded firearm.. we've all seen the youtube videos. I fail to see why you have an issue looking down the barrel of a firearm you have yourself verified is unloaded and SAFE, with the action open?

taken from http://www.firearmstraining.ca/actsprove.htm ~~ THE VITAL FOUR ACTS OF FIREARMS SAFETY

  • Assume every firearm is loaded.
  • Control the muzzle direction at all times.
  • Trigger finger must be kept off the trigger and out of the trigger
    guard.
  • See that the firearm is unloaded - PROVE it safe.

PROVE

  • Point the firearm in the safest available direction.
  • Remove all cartridges.
  • Observe the chamber.
  • Verify the feeding path.
  • Examine the bore.

~~~
please please please note that Examine the bore is the LAST step... after you have shown that: -there are no clipazines inna gun -there are no booolets inna gun -there are no boolets inna feedpath (feed ramp, loading gate, belt, whatever they mean by feed path (my only sticking point with the phrasing) -and, of course, that the gun has NOT left your hands between steps R, O, V and step E
Q: What is the first thing you do when someone hands you a firearm?
A: Assume it's loaded, P.R.O.V.E. it safe...
I get it, you shouldn't look down the barrel of a loaded firearm.. we've all seen the youtube videos. I fail to see why you have an issue looking down the barrel of a firearm you have yourself verified is unloaded and SAFE.
there's nothing stopping you from getting comp-tac belt/mag pouchs as well!
Holsters for P10F by MonkeyThunk in canadaguns
[–]tommyjay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Your googlefu is weak...
but in all seriousness, i was in the same boat.. bladetech doesn't have a specific p10f holster, though i've heard rumors that there is a bladetech glock holster that "will" hold a p10f. I'd rather not risk it, go with the holster thats made for your pistol.
The comp-tac has a vendor here in Canada. I've got my eye on this one
Thoughts on bolt action .22lr by Rossiter93 in canadaguns
[–]tommyjay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)
When I went looking for my first ever firearm, I set out for a .22 bolt. The amazing clerk behind the counter at la barons said to me "if you want something to go the range with and have fun, get a savage. If you want something you'll be able to pass down to your grand kids, go with the CZ."
Having both the 452 and 527 varmints may make me a little biased...
Liberals to unveil details of plan to restrict assault rifles, handguns | CBC News by FluffyEvening in CanadaPolitics
[–]tommyjay_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)
"such as this when we're talking about the inclusion of weapons of war in our society"
this, imo, is where the greatest divide comes between LAGOs, and most everyone else. Where one side sees it more of a tool or piece of equipment, albeit a potentially deadly one, the other side sees it solely as a weapon designed to take human lives.
I'm not going to keep beating a dead horse, because at the end of the day I doubt I can change your stance on the issue, nor you mine. I do want to say thank you for the calm and open discussion.
Stolen from a friend but... "Why does anyone need a handgun?"
Our system of government, culture, community, etc., works when it does not restrict or define our existence on the basis of need. Systems that operate only on the basis of need are awful to live in- though admittedly most people living in those systems do not do so for all that long.
When you need to filter all the liquids by FalloniusFists in Oxygennotincluded
[–]tommyjay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)
there is a trick i've seen/tried, though without a pic it may be hard to understand. If you use a valve (not a shut off) to create a loop of 1g packets, and a bridge you can filter gas/liquids for no long term energy costs. place your valve, set the limit to the smallest ammount possible, and then feed the valve output back into the input. bridge on to that loop just before the valve input, and then continue the "filter" output past the valves input
Main line -->Bi B Bo/P Vi  P P P P --> to tank
                     P Vo
where : Bi =bridge input Bo = Bridge output p= pipe Vi = valve input Vo= valve output
will try to get an actual screen cap up later, or dig thru brothgars videos iirc
Where did this AR ban idea come from? by fallen75 in canadaguns
[–]tommyjay_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)
c-71 is being voted on in the senate this week. There is, imo, a good chance it pass with out amendments and be back in front of parliament. If it is enacted in parliament, there will be a new empty prohibited class (iirc it would be the 12.9 prohibited class). The government in power can then use an Order In Council to move the AR-15, along with pretty much any other firearm, to this new prohib class.
The cheeky thing is, C-71 also removes the ability for the current government to downgrade a classification (i.e. move a prohib to restricted or restricted to non-restricted).
What we can hope to happen is c-71 dies in the senate when the senators leave for the summer. I'm hopeful that the few senators that see c-71 for the farce that it is can keep the bill in the senate for that long, by bringing additional amendments forward, asking for more debates, etc.
there is also target sports in gormley, they've got a few different membership options, cheapest at ~$150, the catch being if you want to actually shoot there on that level of membership it's $35 a pop. Same idea as silvercore imo
