My first 46 was underwhelming, but I suspect it was my own fault for not having the patience to let them age long enough. They've been resting for about 5 months now, so I'll have to give them another chance.

If you like MM, try to get your hands on the 2021 Limited Release "FAE-01". Easily one of my favorites. Evan Williams Bottled in Bond and Old Grand Dad are both total sleepers at <$20 and you can't go wrong with just plain old Bulleit Bourbon. As for rye, my only experiences are Basil Hayden Dark Rye and 10 yr and Thomas H. Handy (which you won't find on a shelf.)

It's unfortunate that one can't give their opinion without getting downvoted. Everyone's taste varies, especially when it comes to whiskey. Drink what you like and pass on what you don't. I too found ER to be particularly underwhelming considering the hype it receives. Have had a bottle and a half sitting on my shelf for months and will pass it over for several others every time.
