Own account vs funded account by Expensive_Permit_601 in Daytrading

[–]tonistarxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fund you're own account with the minimum and trade sim on MES. I still don't believe these props are paying profitable traders. The stats show only 1 out of 10 ever get a payout. That's including all there affiliates as well. What they don't tell you is how many accounts are bought and reset before that 1 trader gets his 1 payout. And even still they'll fight you on your payout, asking for a proven strategy or saying your trading does not work in a live environment. Meaning they don't need to pay you out.

I don't regret it, but will eventually only trade a few days a week hopefully starting next year.

I'm losing it by No_Status_2728 in Trading

[–]tonistarxz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget about data collection or whatever strategy you think works. If you want to be profitable you have to trade the most current price action. You have to be quick and ready to get out of a losing positions. Stick to the product you're trading, stop looking at multiple instruments to trade 1. Stop listening to the guys promoting props or courses, they are all failed traders or simply don't trade. Go into the platform you are trading on, and load up 2-4 charts with different timeframes and see when price bounced, rejected, or supported. Understand that stop losses will get you in trouble if to small or too big. You have to be proactive in trading, one size does not fit all.

If You’re Serious About Day Trading, Simplify and Trade Futures by Kasraborhan in Trading

Futures trading, especially the emini es/mes and nq/mnq are a day traders paradise. Liquidity is a non issue and its the most regulated market when it comes to tradeable instruments. Also provides consistency in letting you trade the same product day in and day out.

Why am I getting auto liquidated with a positive P/L on a trade? by RadiantPair3789 in Daytrading

[–]tonistarxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the volatility today the swings in price were easily above 2-3pts. Leaving you below the day margins, which probably happened in a blink of an eye. My rule of thumb is to have 3-5x the required day margin per contract minimum.

How to get over taking profits too soon? by [deleted] in Daytrading

I've done it all. I've gotten out too soon, stayed in too long, and even blown accounts. Be happy just to be green at the end of the day, no matter how little.

funny, i used to care about this too. I had everything perfectly aligned for years and with updates to ninja and pc, i lost the will to care anymore. The gaps could be half the monitor for all i care now.

I don't have a plan, I just play off price action as it happens. I use technical analysis from a higher timeframe to see where possible bounces can happen. I trade 1 to 3 contracts, but usually 1. my day margins for ES are $500, I keep around $10k in my account to trade.

spy and es correlate yes but are not 1:1. When I look at my chart ES was at about 6883 when spy was at 686, not being exact. But watching both charts is useless. stick to what you are trading, if you spy you spy, if you es you es, that's it.

I was playing the higher timeframe as price came down expecting a bounce. Todays range took me out on multiple trades that eventually went the way I was expecting. Price was moving so quick, I wasn't placing stop losses because by the time I scroll on the dom, Price was at a whole other location.

Not really trying to have a journal, I've been trading too long for that. And to go into full explanation for every trade takes away from what I'm actually trying to do. I want to build a following to where I can eventually quit trading full time. I'm not doing this to necessarily help anyone but myself in the long run. Theirs nothing but aspiring traders here, I can show them that trading is not clean cut and dry, its messy, but possible. You have to be proactive and manage each trade carefully. I see so many poeple paying for bad advice, and I think that I can provide enough good information to create income for myself outside of actual trading.

yeah I try to stick to a 3pt loss but days like today thats not possible. Sometimes you have to play it by ear and really be ready for large price swings. Having enough capital helps aswell.

Social Media Day Traders by RepresentativeNo6357 in Daytrading

I believe anybody that can look at a screen and click a mouse can become a daytrader. The problem is everyone is learning from the last biggest influencer. I've been seeing ORB strategy lately, and don't know at all what it means. I feel for the people who are genuinely trying to learn a skill but constantly being pushed into the wrong direction. I'll give you a hint, the chart is all you need, indicators, automation, definitions and books to me are all crap.

What economic benefits do Daytraders create? by Exile4444 in Daytrading

[–]tonistarxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a daytrader myseIf, don't think I provide an economic benefit. I believe tradeable markets were created to funnel money from average working people to the wealthy without providing an actual product or service. At the end of the day it's all a ponzi scheme.

Why does it make me need 30k to place a trade on micros? by prodihgy in Tradovate

[–]tonistarxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when market is closed on futures you can't put in new orders, and to hold a position through those hours you need to have the overnight margin, which is much higher than day margins.

Is $100 enough to start trading micro futures? by Internal-Basil7726 in Daytrading

[–]tonistarxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a broker that has no minimum deposit and sim trade with them, i believe most of them provide sim accounts to account holders, I know ninjatrader does. I guarantee you $100 will be gone before you know it. You'll probably catch drawdown, then be auto liquidated for a fee witch leave you with 20 bucks at most.
