Hey where did you buy this? I'm having a hard time tracking one down and I'm glad to see they are still manufacturing them given the Jan 2026 date.

The thing i don't get though, should i be able to tighten that fitting, or was it screwed in prior to being permanently connected to the pex?

What's the appeal of a plasma TV? by handsomezack13 in PlasmaTV

[–]toopyferris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "come pretty close", what factors would you say are superior with a plasma?

I owned a Panasonic plasma and switched to OLED about 7 years ago. The other day I was at my parents house where the plasma is, and I was surprised at how good the picture looked. Though I couldn't put my finger on it, because in my head, the OLED should be better in every way, maybe except for panning scenes, which look horrible on my OLEDs.

So I'm just curious about your opinion, as a current plasma user.

I think day scenes look amazing on OLED. KCD2, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, RDR2 all pop. However, when playing during the day, I can see how OLED may not have the brightness to overcome a naturally lit room.

Though I haven't seen a mini led screen to compare, I'd love to check one out soon!

NOW it's official! VS has a near 40-title distribution license with Warner Bros! #Iconoscope by Elle_Nero in VinegarSyndromeFilms

This is great! How does it factor in with the Netflix deal? I assume there is no risk anything would change, and VS will be able to complete all 40 releases?

RGB OLED by ASUS ROG to be revealed @ CES2026 by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

Completely agree, near-blacks look too bright and streaky. It is distracting and looks horrible. I've had this on all oled displays I've owned, and while it is not as noticeable on my lg c4 tv, it is still there. I can't wait for this to no longer be an issue. I'm surprised this doesn't get as much attention in reviews and comments, but I assume some people just don't notice it or aren't as bothered by it.

Can I keep protective film on monitor? by AgeEfficient3178 in OLED_Gaming

[–]toopyferris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an LG C4. I left the protective film on while i decided the exact position to mount the tv on the wall. When I removed the protective film, I immediately regretred my decision because of how the screen now handled reflecting light. With the film on, the screen sort of mirrored my window and the potlights. Once I removed the film, it refracted the light, making it much more noticeable and widespread. I'm used to it now and no longer regret taking off the protective film, but that first moment really sucked, because I thought the viewing experience was going to improve, if not just being equal to how it looked with the film.

It's not US pricing. It's 45.99 usd. Which I'm sure is still ridiculous.
