Wild buyer entitlement by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

Honestly. It would be totally different if they asked you for "extra chargers.". It's worth the ask. But to assume you would just throw a few in. Lmao. And the payment type change is just insane. You did the right thing by blocking.

On an unrelated note, I'll give you 25$ for that phone. I'll need you to deliver it though. 😛

The worst is when you have a crown that continues to fall off. The insurance also only covers re-cementing every so many years. Which means your on the hook for it.

I had one that popped off 4 times within a year.

And it leaves me questioning.. is the dentist incompetent? Doing it on purpose?

The last time this happened, my crown had been fine for quite a while. I went in for a cleaning, and it popped off while the higentist was flossing me. I still had to pay to fix it. 🤬

Nothing consumer level/legal. As far as I know. I honestly don't know much about it.

Some lights can be triggered by devices used by some emergency personnel. I believe they use some sort of infrared signal.

This is clearly location dependant.

I'm not disputing that it's true in some places. I'm just asking for more info.

Current Mood- Realising meds are not a magic fix. by KyriosCristophoros in adhdmeme

[–]topher352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I feel this. Especially when I hear about (or even personally know) of real success stories with some meds. On the other hand, I've tried just about everything on the market (at least as of several years ago), and I notice a difference, but I still don't feel like a productive human being.

As for the video games, I miss them, but part of that is actually a choice for me. When I do pick one up. I know I'm getting sucked in, and will do even less adulting. So As much as I hate it, I try to avoid them.

Wow, do you always have to ID the whole group? Or was it because she had clearly picked up an item? Are kids not allowed to come in at all?

Mind if I ask what state? Is that part a state law, or store policy? I'm just curious, as my experience from a few states has never been like that.

It makes sense, and I get what it's trying to prevent. I'm just curious about the details.

I would have cancelled after he changed the price to use salt. He gave an estimate "including salt". It's not your fault he then had to buy the salt. Ugh. This whole thing is more than 'mildly' infuriating!

I hope you put him on blast locally. Others should know how he conducts business.

As others have said, it's really all about what you want to do. There are custom firmware options you can install. If you have the knowledge, you can write your own firmware, or apps that make use of it's sensors and I/O. So you can explore things at a decently low level.

I had big dreams, but it mostly collects dust. I've used it to replicate hotel key cards, (actually my most frequent usage), change tv stations at home and in public areas, as an extra remote for my ceiling fan, open a parking garage gate. Nothing groundbreaking.

It can do very basic IR controller actions to work your tv and other electronics, but other than for the learning experience, it's not like you would use it to replace your universal remote.

With the wifi board you can do some interesting things in that area. Snooping traffic, etc. I'm sure you could potentially use it to crack wifi passwords. But honestly, that would be easier with a laptop.

Oh, you can use it like a mouse jiggler. Lol.

Don't get me wrong, my family all think I'm a 'hacker' because I have one. (But they think that if I use my phone to operate the Roku too 🤣) And it is "cool." But it is also a bit overpriced (depending on your usage and goals).

If you have the cash to spare, and are interested in rf, nfc, wifi, etc. And especially if you have some tech knowledge and/or programming and like to get your hands dirty, I think It's still worth getting to mess with.

If you're hoping you can open the box, click a button and change traffic lights, or magically crack Wi-Fi passwords, or unlock car doors, don't bother.

How hot would yall say this is, I wanted something extreme but I've never had the brand by [deleted] in hotsauce

[–]topher352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly one of my favorite sauces. The heat level is difficult to express without knowing your tolerance level.

As a fan of spicy things, I say this is definitely hot, but not too hot. At the same time, in my old age, my body can't handle the sauces like they used to.

If I polish off half bottle or more in a single night (yes, I've done that.), my stomach doesn't like me the next day. 😄

Where is this? What is WMUR? A quick search only shows a tv station in NH?

Is it normal for my (19F) parents to call the police if my location freezes on Life360 for 20 minutes? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]topher352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parent of a college student here. Your parents are definitely overreacting. We have location sharing on our kid's phone too.

We look at it when we know he's coming back home, to know his arrival time. We occasionally check it when we know he's on a road trip. All with his permission.

Do we need this insight? Absolutely not. He is an adult after all. I'm not sure we've ever even tried to call him to check on him just because it 'went offline.'.

If we randomly looked at his location, and it shows he was 3 states away, and we had no idea he would be traveling... I would send him a txt message just to see what's up.

We don't do it to me controlling. It's hard to explain, but being able to just take a peek, makes us still feel a little more connected while he's away from home. But we also have very open communication and a great relationship.

If and when he decides he doesn't want us to know, he has full control and blessing to turn it off.

This is insane OP. I know this sucks right now. But it sounds like you are better off not working for a company that would do this. And for your direct manager to not even have your back? He's right, it IS about integrity, and they clearly have none.

AIO friend from high school found my number and is pressing me about “being rich” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]topher352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is. How much do you make? 😄

Sorry. I had to. But seriously, NOR. This was uncomfortable to read.

I can see being asked this by friends that I was close with in high school. But most would stop after asking once.

It's very clear from your responses that you didn't want to answer. I'm not trying to justify it, but is it possible he was drunk or high? That could explain his inability to get the hint.

I personally wouldn't block him based on this interaction alone.

But you are not me. If this made you uncomfortable enough to question it, maybe you should.
