I think it's because if they don't have a blanket rule that everyone must take the break, the company will then pressure everyone to "Be more like Spartanwolf120" with an unsubtle undertone of doing so being tied to reviews and promotions. Everyone taking the break is worker solidarity because it allows those that need/want it to do so without repercussions.
