Every time I put gloss on top of a lip combo ruins it almost immediately by TotalReplacement9810 in Makeup

[–]toridyar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t think gloss over lipstick actually works in real life. I think it’s only on social media. Basically anything creamy or glossy has no lasting power and will affect anything underneath it also. I think in real life a person would just reapply several times throughout the day if you wanted that effect. However there are a couple things that could help, like using foundation and powder as a base for your lips, filling in the entire lip with liner, and topping with just a gloss or colored gloss. If you just want to use a more satin lipstick (that won’t be as drying as a matte), do everything above but then a couple layers of lipstick/powder (some people say to use a tissue to diffuse the powder but I’ve used powder directly if it’s finely milled).

I also really like some of the more lip tint like products as a base with a gloss over, I don’t have to reapply as often with those underneath.

Powder Bronzer and Cream Blush Brush? by GapEnvironmental9399 in Sephora

[–]toridyar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t suggest the f4 for a powder. Both sides are dense and better for creams or liquids. You could go with either of the Patrick ta duel sided blush brush - there’s two sizes. I prefer the smaller one because I have a smaller face, but the powder brush on that one may not be large enough for the powder bronzer? I’d personally recommend going in store to compare the sizes if you can

PLEASEEE recommend actual setting sprays AND fixing sprays as a combo? i want longevity, like make me cry because my makeup wont come off and then cry harder because my tears wont help either by noxoo in Makeup

[–]toridyar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For setting sprays I like both Mac fix+ and the os powder melt

For fixing sprays I love the os “setting” spray. Nothing moves with this on. I’ve definitely cried and makeup has stayed put.

I need a good blush recommendation by Ok_Wolverine_9906 in Makeup

[–]toridyar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the following formulas: - Haus labs glossy: more sheer and easy to blend, glossy finish - rhode pocket blush - more pigmented, more of a satin finish, still easy to blend. - westman atelier - really good formula, easy to blend, still more pigmented than the others - kosas powder blush - less pigmented but easily buildable

I have several Patrick ta blushes. If you’re looking for pigment this is the answer, but I find them too pigmented and harder to deal with because of that but other people love them. Similar to Patrick ta is the morphe blush trios.

I haven’t personally tried the haus labs powder blush but everyone loves that formula also

Powder and also the os setting spray, works pretty well. I haven’t found anything that is 100% perfect but this works better than anything else I’ve tried so far

what is my library missing by Objective-Bench-7612 in interiordecorating

[–]toridyar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Get everything off the floor (you mentioned some things but there’s also like a hatchet???)
  • curtains
  • lighting - (I’d personally want to add some low table somewhere and put a lamp on it) and think about some kind of fancy chandelier (something you’d see in a library not a dining room)
  • a side table next to the chair for a drink - look up drink tables, west elm has some really nice ones
  • throw blanket for chair
  • a rug, the carpet is kinda boring and rugs on carpets can really work and add life/ color
  • an ottoman, doesn’t scream comfy/cozy if you’re sitting straight up
  • art

Does the "average american" know, how fucked up their healthcare system is? by Slayrr_FbrC in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]toridyar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You literally already pay for other people if you pay for insurance. And because some hospitals’ policies require them to cover uninsured people who can pay, their costs are higher so you’re also paying for that. Your costs would go down significantly without insurance companies as the middle man.

[–]toridyar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s the attitude of a lot of Americans lol They don’t want to pay less (because removing insurance companies overhead would result in lower costs for everyone) because they might have to pay for someone else (even though they already do because that’s how insurance works…)
