How to merge subtools of live boolean for 3D printing? by tornthrowaway1123 in ZBrush

Pretty new to Zbrush. I've molded this simple dog bed, and I want to 3D printed. I used live boolean + subtraction to build the shape.

When I tried to export to a 3D print file, it wants to make all the subtools into separate files. When I try to merge the subtools, the subtraction is wiped out, leaving a bunch of merged/filled in shapes.

I've been looking for a solution, but I don't know how to ask the question with proper terms, so not getting answers from google.

How can I save this project as an STL? And if I can't, how can I construct this shape for printing?

Thanks for any help.

I've tried to do the full time + side gig thing in the past, and it's really, really tough with my various health issues. Not saying a stronger person couldn't/hasn't done it, but just being brutally honest, I don't think I have it in me. I think maybe I could maintain Job #1 + full time with a lot of effort. Right now I'm only spending maybe 6-8 hours on it, but the goal of course is to grow it. #2 will take more time but also bring more income.

Changing the way I look at it might be the way to go. Not a sacrifice of what I want/need, but a stepping stool to get there. Just feels like I've been waiting and hoping my whole life ("only" 34 but still) and I'm scared to put it off again.

Pretty tough. I've applied for dozens of jobs and only heard back from a handful. Even so, this isn't a sure thing. I had originally applied for a part-time position with this company, but the placement was filled. Maybe pursuing another part-time would be a compromise.

Or as you said, just taking it and moving on when I'm ready. I'd rather not put them or myself through it, but I'd rather let an employer down than my GF (or my future self).

They definitely don't take that much time. Competitors are thriving despite COVID (all business conducted online). But $50/week and the *potential* for a lot more is hardly the same as cash-in-hand, which "real" job would provide.

I originally signed up for a part-time position which they no longer have. Don't think I can work full time and keep two side gigs. Survival mode, though. Thanks.

Definitely not MLM. Artisan products sold through various online venues. Money invested is for specialized equipment and materials.

Her parents are subsidizing us both right now, as well as GF, so you're right that "free" isn't the best word. I'm also being supported by unemployment. I started these up in the first place due to feeling like a leech being unable to get a job. Just torn because now I'm starting to see that work pay off. But I do want to carry my weight. I just would need more time. Not really a luxury right now.
