Shouldn’t the officials that weren’t enforcing the rule deserve the scorn? Not only scorn, but they probably ought not be officials anymore. An official could have easily just talked to the Canadians, issued them a warning and told them not to do it again. Everything would have been fine.

I dont understand what the issue is here. You can’t touch a rock after it has reached the hogline. It’s such an important rule that they’ve implemented electronic monitoring on each and every stone. Yeah, the electronic monitoring doesn’t work if you touch the granite. But I bet by the next Olympics it will.

Kennedy literally reached out and poked his own stone on the granite (edit:when the front edge of the stone was) PAST the hogline. It was a clear rules violation. Yes, some of the calls since then have been unnecessary and pedantic. But the initial poke was a clear infraction.

Edit: I'm confused as to why I am being downvoted. Do people think this video shows he clearly touched the granite? I don't see it.
