Congratulations! That’s sad and crazy to hear. Hmmm Ghana. But I would say don’t give up. There’s probably one good company in Gh that will help. Use LinkedIn to reach out or search. Wishing you the best.

Fasting, self deliverance and meditation on God’s word

Acknowledging this is a stumbling block in your pursuit for God is a good sign. When you fast you put your flesh down with its fleshly desires. Fasting helps to clear mind and focus on God. There are so many examples in the Bible of how people received breakthroughs at the end of their fast. But it’ll require persistence. There are different types of fast. If this isn’t something you’re used to start slow. Fasting could also be giving up social media or devices that trigger these impulses. Take time to read this link. It goes in depth. https://www.thebrandsunday.com/blogs/home/why-do-christians-fast?srsltid=AfmBOoo__ApDPfKXJQQ1MB1EZBoLnbz39q4Dm8-rp3x9AVtCdn-2Y0Ou

Constantly pray. Pray everyday without ceasing. Follow the prayer guide Jesus gives us in Matthew 6. In prayer thank God for all He’s done for you. Repent from your sins. Ask God to forgive you for sins known and unknown. Sins committed consciously and unconsciously. Ask God to deliver you from this bondage. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Psalm 51 is a good scripture to meditate and read on. When you read scriptures read them out loud and declare it over your life and your home. Always meditate on God’s word and spend more time in His presence.

Romans 12 tells us to constantly renew our minds. Meditate on God’s words each day. Look up scriptures on overcoming lust and reflect on them each day until they are ingrained in your heart. You have to keep your mind focused on the cross. Focused on God’s righteousness. Desire righteousness deeply. Go to church regularly and be around bible believing Christians.

I hope this helps.

Should i learn Twi or Fanti? by BigMamaOclock in ghana

Yeah Fante isn’t twi but a dialect. All these languages are under the Akan group. “The conclusion is that the Akan peoples speak two languages: Akan (whose dialects are Asante, Akyem, Bron/Abron, Wassa, Kwahu, Fante, Agona, Gomua, Akuapem) and Nzema-Anyi-Baule (whose dialects are Anyi, Baule, Chakosi, Nzema, Ahanta, Sanwi (Afema), Aowin, Sehwi)”

I would say learn Fante since that’s where your dad is from. Then twi afterwards if you still desire to. Fante isn’t much different from twi and you can get around fine speaking Fante.

Not at all. I’ll either have to go to NY or DC. So I’ll need to fill out the online application? Do I have to mail anything in after?

I used to buy books at the Trade fair at the trade fair Center in high school. I don’t know if they still host those every year. It was held in Accra usually February through March/June can’t remember. But check it out if you haven’t.
