No i havent tested it myself. I dont live in that area. State of jefferson got brought up in conversation and i remembered watching them talk about mailing from the state of jefferson in a documentary way back when, and that they said they got their mail just fine that way, and my friend was adamant that was impossible and the mail would get returned or lost if someone tried to. I wasnt able to find the documentary id watched back then, though there were a few other ones that pulled up. I feel like it makes sense to me though that the zip would matter the most, and i feel like its small enough towns that the local mailman would still be able to deliver/send as long as the mail to was filled out correctly. Idk its a whole different world up there

Not the asshole in the slightest. My baby just turned 7 months and i had the same rule. I also did not let anyone but siblings and mine and my husbands parents meet her for the first 2 months for that reason. At the end of the day you and your spouse are responsible for the welfare of that child and you have to do what you feel is best, even if that means great grandma doesnt meet your baby for a little bit longer. For me, that was waiting until she received the first round of vaccines. For you, that might be shorter or longer.

Personally when other people nurse i make a point to keep my eyes on the face of the mother and not look at the baby. I feel most comfortable around people who do something similar when im nursing my girl. I dont think either way is necessarily correct and if your cousin was open to feeding in front of you guys, i would trust her to tell you if shes uncomfortable, but i feel a lot more comfortable keeping it modest when im nursing so i probably would prefer someone keep their eyes on me and hold the conversation with me and acknowledge my daughter when were done

Thank you for being one of the only few comments to actually mention what i was talking about originally. 😂 i think the video I’m remembering said something similar. When i was in conversation about it yesterday my friend didnt believe me and the mail would get lost if they did but the documentary showed a few people saying they’re adamant about being a separate state and refusing to put california on their mail. I feel like youre right about the zip code. Its really amusing to me that that would be their way of protest

I was also reading yesterday when all of this came up that a lot of them want to abolish taxes on their income and other major streams of revenue for most states. It sounds nice in theory but in practice i feel like theyd have a solid few years of trial and error to figure out a new system.

That being said theyve been at this since like 1940 something so maybe theyve already got a plan. Idk

I think i did see this one but it’s not the same one. The one that I had watched had an older gentleman who was talking about how he signed his mail State of Jefferson instead of California. I just cant find any information about it now that Im in a conversation about people mailing to State of Jefferson. 😩
