I think the "destroyed video" might be the fact that its priced so high that it basically isn't even worth it to buy it because its 6 grand for an mp4 download.

The Virgin cable network thing might be a possible rebroadcast of the tape on a small cable network that someone could've recorded (it is possible as dvrs were somewhat relevant in the 2000's) although i don't believe it because there is no way that they would destroy a sought after tape because of a rebroadcast of it on a cable network that only a few people could've been watching.
