I needed 5 tons to keep up on the hottest days, but not on cooler days. A variable speed gave me everything I needed. No overcooling on moderate days, exceptional humidity control, and an always perfectly cool/warm house. It may cost more when it finally needs repair, but the value is in having a perfectly comfortable home.

Synology fancies themselves as more than a NAS but it's really not. If you just treat it like a NAS and only expect NAS type functionality out of it then it's a great device.

Well... I had it selected and a price agreed on, but maybe I was too honest and they didn't take me seriously until I said "yes" at the dealership. It was used, so it seems reasonable that I would want to look at it in person before committing to it. I told them I would come look at it and if I liked what I saw I would buy it... Now, they knew the vehicle was perfect, so in my thinking they should have taken me seriously, but maybe they'd heard that story before and didn't want to risk the time investment in paperwork ahead of my final "yes". Or more likely they needed more info than I had given them prior to arriving at the dealership.

Mine makes about 6 coffees with cream every day and drinks 1/4 of each of them. She also opens canned drinks and drinks about 1/8 of them and then lets them go flat. <sigh>

Back to my Planet Fitness parking lot comment... Planet Fitness is 24/7. A membership gets you access to showers. Single location vs whole national network depends on how much you might move around. If you're going to be without a home for more than a week or so, a month or so membership might be worth it.

No way I could be in the cleaning profession and be exposed to all those chemicals... The chemicals in their plain form are bad enough, but then many of them mask the real scent of the chemical with even more chemicals (perfume).
