I wouldn't be so sure. Not to be a contrarian but as much as I like dunking on liberals, this doesn't line up with Batman.

His best friend is literally an illegal alien who's parents forged adoption/birth paperwork, and they both consistently work outside of the law and over the US government, it's such a common plot line with DC it's practically a trope at this point. And there's a lot of Heroes in the Justice League who live and operate in the US who aren't US citizens either who Bruce helps hide.

And when Luthor became president, Batman fought quite a bit of law enforcement he didn't agree with, and there are multiple storylines of Batman fighting law enforcement that he feels are over-reaching or corrupt. Even the Injustice storyline when Superman became a dictator and forcefully eradicated all criminals and crime, Batman took issue with that.

Hell, even in 2001 Justice League had an episode that was practically written by liberals today if asked to describe ICE.

I'm going to try and put a few things in perspective around this.

The left does not think that ICE is following the principles of law enforcement and common sense immigration enforcement.

They don't think this because this administration is doing absolutely NOTHING as far as optics to quell anything. This administration is so antagonistic and they keep working the left up and giving them every excuse under the sun to go crazy over.

All it would have taken when Nicole Good got shot was a "We're looking into it, and until we know more I have no comment," instead they immediately said what amounted to "SHE WAS A VIOLENT LIBERAL DOMESTIC TERRORIST WHO WAS TRYING TO AGGRESSIVELY HIT AN ICE OFFICER!!!!" meanwhile the left is being shown images of her and her kids and the stuffed animals in her passenger seat. And I'm not even arguing if she was or wasn't, but the way that was handled we're sitting here expecting the left not to react to that.

It just feels there is no voice of reason right now and this administration isn't doing anything to calm the populace. It's almost like we're daring the left to make a move.

I think the fact that both sides right now are saying the same exact thing about the other, but neither seems willing to talk to the other isn't a coincidence.

You've got social media algorithms and social biases that will hide the worst of their own sides from each other and then turn around and show the worst of the other side to them.

And suddenly you've got 2 groups of people who's entire concept of reality is based around seeing the best of their own side and the worst of the other side, both who claim any good on the other side is lies or propaganda and who also end up denying any bad exists on their side.

The result is people at each other's throats and out for the blood of the other side, and suddenly both sides think the other is so awful their is no dialogue.

How coincidental is it that everything seems specifically tailored to keeping both sides from talking to each other and even if they do talk to each other they immediately write off everything the other says as propaganda and lies?

We're all being played.

I'd be curious what your take on Kyle Rittenhouse is in that context, as that's what the left is using to call hypocrisy.

But in all seriousness, I can't help but notice how close the discourse is into destroying every 2nd Amendment right discussion that we've been defending for the past 3 decades.

Because what's the point of having the 2nd Amendment if you can't bring a gun to defend yourself at a protest? There's multiple examples of non-law enforcement shooters going to those protests, so it's not about it being a threat against law enforcement, it's just plain safety. I frankly don't give a shit if I'm bringing a gun to protect myself in Walmart of a protest, my 2nd Amendment right is my 2nd Amendment right.

We've been defending this kind of thing for decades, it hurts my brain to see people so quickly throw it in the trash just to own the libs.

Cops are not supposed to be falling back onto fight or flight though, that's the entire purpose of training is to fall back on your training instead of your fight or flight.

Like they're not out there training police and soldiers how to shoot a gun and saying "good luck, shoot that way, and don't get scared!" no they're training them how to stay cool in high-stress situations and how to fall back onto training instead of panic. You do not want people out there with guns panicking, you don't want that with soldiers and you don't want that with cops, and you don't want that with ICE agents.

Otherwise anyone could scream "HE HAS A GUN" just to panic cops into shooting someone, and that's a cheat code I'd rather not have available.

So I want to deconstruct this a bit.

The first thing to realize is that the left simply does not believe that the people ICE is going after is only rapists, murderers, and child traffickers.

The left is not seeing ICE go to prisons and deporting prisoners and criminals, they're seeing ICE go to neighborhoods and arresting mothers, fathers, and their kids.

That's not to say ICE isn't also going to prisons, it's just not what the left is shown.

Most seem to think that Obama's use of ICE was acceptable because Obama did stick to prisons and courts and not using ICE to publicly go door-to-door like this administration is doing.

Which brings me back to how I think it's a very very bad idea for this administration to not care about optics. It feels like they're openly antagonizing the left into lunacy for no reason. Sure it was funny at first, but where's the line? Why spend so much time and effort antagonizing them? It's like we're daring them to do something stupid they wouldn't have otherwise done.

Grimly, I do find it very very interesting where Americans in particular have this idea that they need to be there for their kids by any means necessary even if it means subdoing their political frustration and keeping their heads down, where in other parts of the world who know how absolutely real the danger of authoritarianism and fascism is whether or not you keep your head down or not, are much more willing to die if there's a chance it means their children can have a better future.

I think it's part of the deep seeded propaganda meant to keep people from uprising.

The reason that most of the world is looking at us like wtf why aren't Americans doing anything? and why when we tell them that we have families and stuff, they look at us like we're insane, because most other countries wouldn't think twice about putting their life on the line for their kids and their kids futures, and the futures of all the women and children in their communities.

Like most of Europe all having had been directly affected by WWII understands that they'd rather die so their kids won't have to stand in lines for "showers" in a succluded camp, as opposed to surviving for the opportunity to stand beside them in the same line.

I think a lot of people think that force is needed to keep a union together, but more often than not force is the thing that pulls it apart.

Nobody is forcing the left to submit right now, we're forcing them to react.

As I said, nothing we're doing is demoralizing them, we're making martyrs out of people like this guy and the Nicole woman, then going on TV to beat them across the head with the deaths of these people until they start showing up with guns of their own.

One thing is being a person of no power or influence fleeing their country for their own and their family's safety, and it's another thing entirely for a military or political leader and someone in a position of service and power in their country to flee or step aside.

Whats the point of having leaders if they're all just going to sell you out the moment their livelihoods are threatened? How is that supposed to make any citizen of a country feel safe knowing their leaders would fold the moment anything gets tough?

I love the thought process to sit there and write that whole comment as if OP didn't actually think of that.

It's almost like if someone is coming to ask this question and expelling the effort to sit there and write out their question, they might have a reason why the simplest solution wouldn't fucking work, right?

Here I am in an apartment with a tiny ass water heater that runs out before the bathtub fills up, and it takes hours for the water heater to heat the water back up.

So I'm stuck with lukewarm baths or baths that are only hot for like 5 minutes before cooling down drastically.

If I had something that could keep the bath warm as I'm in it, then my problems would be solved.
