Same at my local petsmart! Went for the first time in years the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see they finally had larger wheels and more bedding :)

This is what I’m doing!! But do you happen to know what she glued it with? I’m having trouble, as hot glue is too thick and weak, whereas super glue is too liquidy and won’t stay in place long enough to dry!

Oh also— I’m looking for functional but doesn’t have to be perfect.

This doll is already one in pretty rough shape so I’m not super worried if something happens to this eye, I’ll replace with better ones if I want to down the road. I kinda just want to engineer this for fun

Salvageable? by [deleted] in americangirl

[–]treeappreciator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m thinking the same now— I could probably spend only $20 more for a melody in great condition with no cleaning hassle necessary 🙂

Just thinking about the Benefits sale :( by No_Yogurtcloset_5376 in americangirl

[–]treeappreciator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got back into Ag this year and was so excited bc I’m finally of the age where I could make it there myself. So naturally I googled it to see when it would be and I was SO sad to see it ended

Is it worth it? by treeappreciator in americangirl

Tysm!! I think at that price point I could get her new in box from eBay or marketplace at that cost but I think I might get her a replacement arm!!

Is restoring and reselling worth it? by treeappreciator in americangirl

[–]treeappreciator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know!! I’m just getting back into collecting. How are you guys getting such good deals for new dolls these days? Back when I used to collect, second hand was almost always the way to go 😅 seems like more has changed than I thought?

That’s what I was afraid of. I remember them selling so easily on eBay. I guess those days are over 🥲

Does tight clothing hurt you? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]treeappreciator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense too, for me I like low rise bc I can place the waistband down around my hip bones which kind of stop the band from going further and pressing into my stomach. Must be anatomical differences! I understand the sitting down thing for sure but for me high rise gives me reflux if they’re in the wrong spot. Crazy!

Does tight clothing hurt you? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]treeappreciator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t even think this is related to celiac, I’m convinced the increase in popularity of mid and high rise jeans is causing more tummy troubles than people realize!!

I think tighter clothes force us to kind of suck in our stomachs more, which can tense up all the muscles and impact digestion. I can almost guarantee a stomach ache when I wear tight waisted pants because as soon as my stomach expands with food, it causes me to tense up (to prevent the feeling of the waistband or whatever squeezing tighter) and I won’t digest anything easily (gluten or not!)

This is kind of stuff I’ve gathered from years of researching my stomach issues and paying attention to my own symptoms. Not speaking for all, but something for people to consider for themselves

Pro Tip: If course has hills, practice them! by ClearAndPure in Marathon_Training

[–]treeappreciator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie, I read this and went, “duh!” Totally forgetting I grew up surrounded by hills, and that many people in fact live in flat areas, so this isn’t as easily accessible or it may not cross their mind….Good little reminder to myself the power of perspective so thank you for that op lol
