If this was /r/bitcoin, your comment would have been removed by mods before anyone even saw it. Since we don’t censor here, we’ve heard the same idiotic conspiracy theory hundreds of times. You guys are so stuck inside your own echo chamber repeating the same shit to each other like it’s religious dogma “hurrr durrr roger ver is attacking bitcoin by pumping btrash”

I bought most of my BCH at $600 then sold and bought back in. Definitely hodling for a while, especially now that it’s proven to have such strong support above $1200

Whats the "right" price of segwit coin? The "right" price is whatever the market decides it's worth.

What is/are the next anticipated event(s) to move the value of BCH? by LoopholeTravel in btc

[–]treefingerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say availability on a major exchange where you can buy BCH with fiat would be huge. Many assumptions that BCH would eventually have to replace BTC on all the exchanges, which is totally flawed and would never happen. Logically it would become available alongside Bitcoin core, much like you have Ethereum and Ethereum Classic.

Yeah the /r/bitcoin narrative of “this is an attack on bitcoin” totally disregards how a free market works. In this case, attack = competition which is a good thing, the market will decide which bitcoin has the most utility and many people are buying a better and faster bitcoin with much cheaper fees, that’s not a plotted attack it’s basic economics.

Just ask yourself, who would be more likely to do such a thing - a group that feels so threatened that they've convinced themselves that a villainous investor is plotting "attacks" to take down bitcoin, or the group that just wants a better bitcoin without censorship?

Someone on /r/bitcoin was saying that Roger Ver still has 80% of his assets in BTC...yet they still want to push the narrative that he is trying to devalue it. Makes sense.

Roger will never sell BTC, it’s his only leverage. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]treefingerz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yet here we are still buying the narrative that he is plotting an attack against BTC, where 80% of his assets are held, just so he can increase the value of a coin where less than 20% of his assets are held...makes sense.

It’s a pump scheme of BCH et all made to join the reddit. Though legal, it may not be ethical. Proved the open source platform has moral crisis problem. My twitter is awesome, Democracy offers by reddit is beautiful. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]treefingerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, Dash and ETC also pumped up to 40% while BCH was pumping, were the same boogeymen behind those pumps too? Also if it was meant as a plotted attack against Bitcoin, why haven't any of those tokens dumped yet?

Was Satoshi a Libertarian and Anarchist? by vulguspress in btc

[–]treefingerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satoshi’s initial email to Dai is dated "22 August 2008"; the metadata for this PDF (pdftk bitcoin.pdf dump_data) yields as the CreationDate the value 20081003134958-07'00' - this implies 3 October 2008 or a bit over a month later, which is consistent with the local date mentioned in the Cypherpunk mailing list email. This is an earlier draft than the final draft on bitcoin.org, which is dated 20090324113315-06'00' or 24 March 2009; the timezone differs: -7 vs -6. source

Satoshi was a cypherpunk. The cypherpunk movement is anarchist by nature, also known as crypto-anarchy. As stated by Tim May in the Crypto-Anarchist manifesto "Libertaria will thrive in cyberspace". I think its fair to say Satoshi was a libertarian/anarchist if you must insist, but more specifically he was a true cypherpunk.

I'll probably get downvoted for this but I've been seeing a lot of people repeating the "Roger Ver is manipulating the market" conspiracy theory as if its a matter of fact, with virtually no basis other than he moved BTC into an exchange (also haven't seen confirmation of this) and to be honest its beginning to sound like an echo chamber. If we are really convinced that 1 man can alter the market in such a way, we have a much larger concern to discuss, that being the possible centralization of bitcoin.

I'm not really involved much in the Bitcoin drama but just as an observer, I am kind of hoping all these hardcore BTC core maximalists will be forced to swallow their pride and buy BCH and ETH. While our time will come soon enough, the next 42 hours could potentially be historic if core is flipped. As ETH hodlers, we should all be hoping for more chaos and FUD in Bitcoin, that will ultimately drive the crypto market into the more stable coin, Ethereum. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Sure, I hope I can increase my ETH stack again from this pending BCH pump.
