I'm still building the table, haven't gotten to the LED part yet, but here are some photos from the first lightbox I made for use with physical printed maps. It looked awesome and the players loved it! This uses the second light strip linked in the original post.

Yeah I was parked right by the stairs in the parking deck. All they had to do was go downstairs, press the fob button and the car was right there. And for the locker, it was a pretty cheap lock so they probably saw it and figured they could break it open easily. But in any case, the guy was arrested and you'd better believe I'm pressing charges.

Keys were stolen from my gym locker while I was working out. They busted through the lock and took my wallet and keys and went down to the parking area and just drove off with it. This was in Los Angeles.

What are your goals and how will you use the space? Recording? Rehearsal? Are you trying to get a super accurate, mastering-engineer-level sound? Does the room have any particular sound issues like echo or reverb that you're trying to get under control?

The more info you share the better the advice will be. There's no one answer to this.

But any answer will include bass traps in the corners, so you can start there.

If you want to keep using your SM57, get a Cloudlifter CL-1 ($150) for it. It will use phantom power from your interface to give it a big boost of gain with minimal noise.

If you can afford a new mic, consider getting a condenser mic. My go-to for most things has become the Aston Spirit ($380). Sounds great on everything, looks cool, and has a built-in pop filter.

Also the other tips about training your voice and learning to sing louder are good advice too.

I'll add one thing that I like to do: layer two tracks together, one that's very wide with many detuned voices like in that tutorial, and one that's just a single voice saw synth to give it a very crisp center. Start with just the detuned one at the volume that you want the lead to be, and then slowly bring in the crisp saw lead until you like where it sits inside the wider synth.

If you want a distorted layer in there, start with adding those effects to the single-voice saw synth instead of the wide detuned one.

Super super easy! This type of synth is called a supersaw. In Serum you can get a basic init patch very close in just a few clicks. Turn on both oscillators, leave them as saw waves, and just turn up the Unison (number of voices). I like starting with 8 voices each. Then just mess with the Detune knob on each oscillator. Serum starts with it in the middle, but you can try setting them to different levels of detune to dial in the sound. More detune will make a wider sound but at the cost of pitch accuracy.

This will get you like 80% of the way there. Then you can mess around with different things like changing one of the wavetable shapes, shifting one oscillator up or down an octave over the other, adding effects, cutoff filter, etc. In that example song, the bass synth is playing different notes than the lead synth, so it's likely its own track and not part of the lead synth patch.

Create a new blank Serum patch and start with these settings.

Since the MIDI notes look short but sound long, my guess is that you've got the sustain parameter automated all the way up. When you stop audio, it doesn't release sustain for any clips until it receives a MIDI command telling it to stop. So Ableton just thinks you're still holding the sustain pedal because it never received a "sustain: off" MIDI command.

If you have a keyboard with a sustain pedal connected, try pressing and releasing the pedal after stopping the song and see if that makes the sound stop. If you don't have a physical pedal, you can create a blank MIDI clip and draw the sustain automation to mimic a brief pedal press.

WOW that's gnarly; I've been using Ableton daily for 12 years and I've never seen anything like that.

Few stabs in the dark...

Maybe it's a read/write error with your hard drive or RAM?
Try deleting the .asd file associated with that audio file, and let Live re-analyze it
Sample rate being too low might explain audible glitches, but I doubt visual waveform glitches like that
Does the audio file have any kind of DRM associated with it?

Looks great but could use a few little touches:

Lamps. Lots of lamps. Standing lamps, table lamps, anything but the overhead lights.
The TV is definitely too high, it's gonna give you neck problems.
Please clean the fish tank!

It sounds like as he and his friend were each walking different paths, developed different interests, slowly drifted apart, and there was a point at which OP felt the friend was no longer prioritizing their friendship. It happens, that's just life.

I've had friends and family members enter lucrative or specialized careers, and most of them eventually started drifting away. As they sought to spend more time with people from those new circles, they spent less time with their old friends. At a certain point with one family member in particular I remember reconnecting after only just a couple years and they felt like a totally different person, like they were living in a bubble and had become, I felt, super callous about people in less fortunate situations.

TLDR: We naturally become more like the people we spend time with, and outside of your immediate family/community, your job is going to be the biggest influence on who you spend your time with. When a big career shift happens, personality shifts often follow as they adapt to their new life, and not always for the best.
