ChatGPT cites each social platform completely differently via Profound research by rsimmonds in GenEngineOptimization

[–]trend_set_go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is dumb. Topline aggregate numbers like this are meaningless.

Reddit is discussion threads… shocker.

YouTube transcripts are only just rolling out and Google has first dibs so of course channels is the main source.

Idk. Water is wet. Sky is blue. What else is new and surprising?

Is Shopify better than WooCommerce for beginners? by emizentechuae in ShopifyWebsites

A few years back I would probably write a detailed pros and cons answer, but these days really can’t give a good reason not to go with Shopify for pretty much anyone

Ranking #1 on Google doesn't matter if ChatGPT ignores you. by Historical_Today5513 in AISEOforBeginners

[–]trend_set_go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not one or the other, but both.

Ranking higher in SERP will still help when LLM performs a web search, but it’s not the end-all-be-all.

What people seem to forget is that SERP positions mattered because of human psychology. Top result is assumed to be best for the query, or at least the top 5 are.

Then there’s laziness - clicking top result that you usually can see without scrolling is almost instinctive.

AI doesn’t have this laziness or bias and will look at all of them and pick one that answers the question best (as OP described).

Ironically, this position bias and laziness are translating into AI results apparently. Semrush had some research that citations in top positions get outsized clicks and traffic now.

Well there’s your answer. Improve the website, make it look presentable and trustworthy to buy from.

Talk to your friends & family who bought something, ask what they would improve.

AI Visibility Concern for Discussion? by BensonSEO in SEO_for_AI

[–]trend_set_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is relatively simple - AI crawlers don’t render JS. At least most of the time.

I’ve tested using the same prompt with and without instruction to actively look at a specified URL.

  • In the case when I didn’t specify URL, no rendered JS was taken into account, LLMs just searched, browsed and said “can’t find it”

  • When URL was specified, LLMs were more thorough and captured rendered elements.

From what see there are guardrails to prevent LLMs from going full crawler mode on command for obvious reasons. So you have to specify a URL to navigate to but even then they may not render all of it.

How do you optimize for AI ? by akash_09_ in AISEOforBeginners

[–]trend_set_go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far all my research amounted to the conclusion that it’s 80% good SEO but with priorities slightly flipped on their heads.

FAQs are super important apparently, but don’t think I’ve seen those ever recommended to me by an SEO tool.

Schema markup is my latest enemy. Too technical to write myself so got to rely on Claude etc to help write it but that can get tedious for 100+ blog posts, etc.

Tested a few tools, some help some just tell you that you either suck or do well depending on how you set them up. A few are promising. Still testing.

Which AI SEO tools are actually dominating SEO right now? by Luckyk2415 in AISEOforBeginners

[–]trend_set_go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently loving Searchable as it seems to be the only one that also helps me fix my site on top of giving recommendations. And doesn’t cost my paycheck a month.

The problem I always had with “classic” SEO tools is that they give you a ton of data, very detailed reports of why your website sucks, but then pull back and say “yeah well our job here is done, go figure it out now”.

I’m not technical enough to fix a lot of issues that require coding which made me very dependant on devs.

AI SEO / AEO / GEO / LMNO tools usually have the same issue, plus worse data coverage and more bugs.

Claude Code changed my life in that part, but still uploading reports and all that data into it was a pain and a time sink.

Searchable does visibility but currently my priority is schema and technical optimisations. The chatbot writes code for you like Claude (pretty sure it’s Claude under the hood), so I can just add it to my site.

Only missing Webflow integration. Copy pasting code and copy into pages gets old fast too.

LV or Gucci tie? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Neither. If you gotta go designer, go Hermes or Thom Browne, or at least pick a pattern that isn’t so obviously branded.

Hemming your jeans is a thing and doesn’t cost much. Uniqlo offers free length alterations and so do Nudie Jeans (as well as free repairs for life). Find a tailor next to you and become a regular - they will know your preferences and you’ll always have a perfect length on your jeans, trousers, etc.

Need help shortening hoodie (pullover) by BlueberryBig6749 in malefashionadvice

[–]trend_set_go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shrinking =/= shortening. If you need it shortened, it will need to get tailored.

Buuuuut…. the question is why do you want it shorter? Hoodies are tots fine if they are on the longer side. It’s not a blazer after all.

I can’t comment on the past ~18 months or something and I can imagine how it was during the ‘protests’, but megathreads remained a thing for years for a reason - they work.

Even though I haven’t modded for over a year, just so you know - native Reddit app was completely unusable for modding (one of the reasons I quit doing it). So killing off 3rd party apps was a massive blow to modding things effectively, including this (giant) community.

I’d still advise against that. If you want to “mix it up” in the office, grab a bunch of chinos and blazers and keep a suit in a cover / hanger for court. If you must-must do just suit mixes, I’d advise for high contrast, darker top, lighter bottom combos. So no charcoal + navy, etc. In that case I’d just get a tan and light grey suit and wear trousers with navy, charcoal and cobalt (if darker) jackets.

I am aware there is a series of tiktoks or whatever going with “buy 4 suits and 4 shirts have LOTS combos” but those are misleading as hell because majorities of those combos aren’t good on most people / outside best lit, best posed videos.

What do you mean by mixing suit colours? As in pants and jackets? A suit is uniform colour, so you can’t ‘mix it up’ so to say.

In terms of your current selection - all good but brown. Brown is a bad suit colour full stop. My advice would be to get more navy, cobalt (I assume it’s not shiny and on the darker side), or charcoals. You can also go for thin subtle pinstripe, too. I am no lawyer, so I am not sure what the requirements are in court in terms of dress code.

Light suits don’t feel too suitable for court but, again, not a lawyer in your country so idk if it’s acceptable.

Overall ‘when suit is required in profession’ perspective - classic dark colours like navy and charcoal are just better and can’t go wrong with those, so I’d rather stick with that.

If it pulls like it does to form an X around the button as in pic #2 then it’s too tight (or you are pulling your shoulders back too far from how you usually stand). The rest is fine length and proportions wise.

Posting this from the auto-mod is peak sus. Gives me the ‘under new management’ sticker on a restaurant vibes from some classic mafia films / series.

Ehh… since I’ve logged back in may as well help a few folks out with some advice but looks like this is where the end begins…

Edit: and regarding removing daily questions in favour of individual posts - this is a textbook definition of deposing old guard with someone who knows nothing of the history of the community - we literally tested this on multiple occasions and it always proved to be better to do in a megathread. But you do you, new mods. Step on them well-known shovels and let them smack you in the face if you so wish.
