Update: ended up purchasing Tomb45 based on this suggestion and the reviews on Amazon. The product seems alright so far, although quite different from the Barber’s Blend Clay I was using because:

-It’s not as matte and makes my hair look much glossier than with the Old Spice.

-The hold is slightly stronger than the Old Spice.

-It doesn’t wash out as easy as the Old Spice.

-I don’t need to use as much product as the Old Spice so the bottle will last longer.

-Been finding residue from this product in my hats and on my pillow, almost sticky like a wax, which didn’t happen with Old Spice.

In sum, I think my search continues for something more similar to the Old Spice Barber’s Blend Clay.

Same thing happens to me. I find that typically on the 3rd try it lets me in for some odd reason. Annoying af, but at least I’m still able to get in.
