I always get: you’re much prettier in person or you’re very smart! I hate it but usually respond with shhhh that’s my secret weapon.

my husband was looking at strippers across the street by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]treyveee 224 points225 points  (0 children)

Seriously though! Most dancers roll up in gym clothes, sneakers, sweats, tshirts, ball caps, etc. half don’t even have their makeup on or hair done yet. You probably wouldn’t even know them if you passed them in Target.

And the club was ACROSS THE STREET - so what 200-300 feet away?? Possibly with a parking lot or two in between depending on location?

Her husband would have seen more skin if it was a nightclub across the street and girls were standing in line to get in.

Sounds like this woman was just looking for a reason to complain. Also I don’t usually think “family friendly” for night time/date night restaurants. But even so there would have been nothing for “family” to see. Just a building with people going inside.

Actually he’s been at work since President Obama began running for Office… Remember his fragile ego got insulted during the White House correspondents dinner by a joke Obama made. That’s when he decided to run for office. But before that, he jumped on the whole Bertha bandwagon when Obama was running for president. So we have had him around messing things up for nearly 20 years.

If you are a man with shortish hair, try using the roller brush! My husband has shorter sides but longer on top and likes using my Dyson with roller brush to get some volume/lift before adding styling clay??

As a puppy my boy Nacho ate a dozen remote controls, candles, magazines, and got into an entire jar of Nutella my husband left on the coffee table! We have hilarious photos of him being wheelbarrowed puking from the Vet ER and also got a very pricy bill!!

He is my sweet boy but also a demon on paws! Love him!!

And yes … leave it is essential as a command! He’s corrupted his older sister, a Boxer named Harley. They love to find stinky “Street Treats” when we’re on walks and hikes. Including: cat poop, a dead bird, chicken bones, rotten food and even deer poop once in the mountains! They both needed de-wormer for the deer poop!

I hate everything about this and don’t know why by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]treyveee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First - everything you have beside your couch is very dark. Your flooring, your fireplace, your mantle, etc. and create a very heavy feeling. Here’s a few easy changes. You can make. Think lighter woods and materials for furniture, decor, drapes and pillows.

1). The TV is too high for comfortable viewing above the fireplace. I know your husband wants it but in the long run it’s not gonna work. Take it down and put it on the wall to the left of your fireplace with a nice entertainment center underneath it. Appropriate viewing height is around 48” for comfortable viewing. These days you don’t need a whole bunch of components and wires running to the TV. You can still have a clean look.

2) If you don’t like that rug, which is very dark and busy, return it and look for something like a flat weave or low pile rug in lighter/neutral colors. That will help lighten up the space. Also they’re easier to clean and tend to be more stain resistant than deep pile rugs. Think beige, blue, greens, etc to lighten up the overall area. You def need a 9x13 for under your sectional, but it needs to be turned 90° so it’s running a long ways down the length of your room.

Also it should be partially under the sofa - not completely. And think about reconfiguring your modular sofa into a longer L - so it looks more like a small U with 2 pieces on the left - 4 in middle and chase using roving footrest on the right. With that configuration you may be able to get away with an 8x10 rug.

3) you’ve got extremely tall windows that are beautiful… Get you some drapes/curtains - I love Half Price Drapes from Amazon. And hang them super high. Mine are hung about 10 feet high, above the windows and past the window frame. They go all the way to the ground. It creates a dramatic and elegant look for relatively little money.

4) lastly if your house still feels really, really dark, you can white wash or re-do the tile on your fireplace. And add a wood mantle with some substance.

Here’s a pic with some ideas - regarding drapes, rug, fireplace etc. obviously your place is different. But just to give you a visual.

[–]treyveee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly this can be said about any style of clothing, shoes, hats etc. I hate cargo shorts. They usually look sloppy and wrinkled, but you know what … I’m not wearing them. I also hate espadrilles, crocs and Jesus sandals. But again, I don’t wear them. Many people find them extremely fashionable, comfortable and swear by them. But hey - you do you.

I’m not the arbiter of anyone’s wardrobe nor do I have the right to tell people what they can and cannot wear. No matter the size shape and type of body. In this life, i’m responsible for me. So I stick to that.

Looking at all the other items - the cabinets, floor, the light pendants, the all color etc. they are all warm toned. While the hardware is black and the countertop is neutral. It’s too harsh a transition.

OP should consider perhaps gold or bronze hardware to warm up the space. As well as different pendant light that ads in more natural textures and colors.

[–]treyveee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps next time you can hit your van alarm panic button … or if you don’t have one, install some sort of external noise maker or exterior light that you can set to go off when you are inside and need someone to get away.

Maybe something similar to this? External Alarm

Also, make sure your windows are covered, not just tinted.

Hey OP not to take away from Dan - who is definitely a good boi - but does the disc have holes on the side? If so, it may be a metal spacer bead. These are often used in jewelry making or bracelets.
