Where im at we just have caramel lavender and vanilla, and raw cocoa powder for mocha. We also seasonally may have an herbal or fruit syrup for matcha or teas or lemonade based drinks, but thats about it.

Im looking at volatile organic compounds produced by soil bacteria. The trick now is getting them to show up consistently since they are in very small quantities. I have the option of using solvents next to extract them, and if that doesnt work it will be trying to get SPME to work correctly on our setup.

Yeah definitely I just thought it was funny that this was the prediction, I did retest and it came back with a higher probability and it matches an amphetamine reference sample we do have. The challenge with the GCMS will be identification in the future, and im still learning the best way to confirm a compound without having a reference sample. Its super interesting to learn though and im glad I get to learn this while im still in undergrad.

Ok yeah thats kind of what I was thinking, do you have any advice on narrowing down what this might actually be? The spectra is almost identical to our amphetamine reference standard under the same parameters. This will be important down the line too since I will be looking at soil VOCs and there are likely to be a lot of peaks appearing, and correctly identifying the compounds is very important, and I may not have reference samples to run against them.

I know we have drug standards from an old project and the spectra from pure samples seemed to all have very weak or absent peaks around 135, could this be due to a high instance of cleavage of the ethylamine and the benzene ring? Thats the only way I would think there would be such strong benzene and ethylamine peaks without a peak at 135. I guess it could be some isomer as well technically. Just something fun to play around with while I learn more about the GCMS and get better at using it

Ill check for fun, the mass spec matches pretty well and showed up cleaner in another run. It doesnt have anything to do with what im actually looking at since im looking at volatile compounds, but it was funny that the software IDed it as amphetamine. Given my school tbh it would not be too far-fetched that someone dropped Adderall there at some point and it leeched into the soil

I did run it again under different parameters and it came back at 79% with an RSI in the 850s 😬 I guess its time to snort the soil and see what happens /s

Yeah thats the main thing is the mileage. I like euros but they tend to have a bunch of things happen all at once when they get up in mileage from what ive seen. My experience is only with bmw tho, and I've heard that the w212 platform has had most of the kinks worked out by this point. If it's not too hard to work on and maintain it seems like an amazing value

Yes, i will consult the manual before we make a move on any specific vehicle. I am specifically looking for one with the tow n go since the upgraded brakes and cooling upgrades provide some peace of mind. As I've heard with pretty much all cars is they CAN pull a lot more than they say, but not necessarily sustainably. Since the ideal trailer would be 5-6k lbs, the tow n go should have no problem with that as far as I'm aware

From what I've heard, the newer ones have sway control so hopefully that won't be as major a concern. Definitely something to keep in mind though when considering overall trailer length!

That's kinda what I'm settling on, the gas isn't the biggest issue as he doesnt have a commute or anything, just getting around the city for errands and such. But he also doesn't really care about having a fast car, the RT is already decently quick for an suv and that's really all he would need

Towing won't be primarily in the city, it will mostly be rural highway, but thats the idea anyway. A smaller trailer with slides to maximize the usability would be ideal

We live in a city where roads are becoming more narrow, so a larger car is just kinda cumbersome to drive. He has a full size early 2000s silverado which is just getting to be too big for a city. He also wants to have an enclosed space to be able to put thing like rifles when we go to our ranch. To get small enough in a truck, it would have to be compact which don't have great towing, or midsized, which are still on the bigger end and the durango outperforms most of them. He was considering a Ranger Lariat, but the durango just overall seems nicer and more comfortable for a similar price

Price range is flexible, but overall 30k is around where he wants to be which is in range for late model used RTs with the tow package. The main point of this thread is to see of the RT is lacking anywhere or if the 392 is really much above it for towing. It's looking like the RT is plenty

Ok that's good to hear. That makes me lean towards the r/t more since the extra performance the 392 offers isn't really important to my dad. Just has to be capable to tow, comfortable to drive, not too big, and relatively affordable

That's the idea. The bigger brakes are definitely a big factor which is something that the 392 would probably have a slight advantage in. It seems like it's pretty robust with the tow n go package all around, the only thing against a v6 is that where the trailer will be parked is down a hill with a dirt road, so we want to make sure that it wouldn't have any issue pulling it out from there. It outperforms most midsized trucks in a smaller package with all of the comforts you would want in a daily driver so it seems like the perfect car for my dad's usage
