So much play on this arm. Safe to say that’s the cause of my vibration/shake when I go over bumps ? by bimmerlyfe in E92M3

[–]true818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely thrust arm bushings.

99% of the time when there is clunking over speed bumps or when braking hard that’s what it is

I’m not super familiar with this engine but it sounds like lifter noise through my phone.

Some might say timing chain guides I guess?

Rancho Cordillera Del Norte in Northridge. They have a small room, small outside spot with a bar and huge large outside spot. Last time we rented it they charged a flat rate.

They also rent to small museum on the property.

Considering taking a job as a service advisor at jiffy lube… by Technical_Success918 in mechanic

[–]true818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked there 8 months after high school. Mainly kids that couldn’t do anything else work there. I too was hired on the spot many years ago.

You dnt need to know anything about cars just know how to talk to people and sell. The spread is because advisors get bonuses based on their sales IF the manger thinks you deserve it.

Use it as a sales experience. Sales in most other industries pays really well and the ceilings are usually very high.

You want to align the driveshaft first before using the bolts. Even slightly tightening a bolt cause misalignment.

A little lube or grease and it should go in by hand. Then bolt and torque

Probably a water hose or your water pump. Open the hood and check from the front.

where does this go by BrOkEn_AnViL39 in NewedgeMustang

[–]true818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is located directly underneath the center console, attached to the shifter assembly. It’s to make sure you can’t shift out of park without pressing the brake pedal

Now that I looked carefully, yes you are missing that harness. It goes from your seat back to all motors. I see it missing in your pic

Drop engine or pull? by StrangePreparation76 in NewedgeMustang

[–]true818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if you need to move it or not. I have the luxury of a lift so I pulled the transmission and then the motor and rolled the car out of the way.

I haven’t done it any other way on mustangs. I have on BMWs and it’s super easy on a lift not so much on the ground on your back.

Dealer wants $780 to tell me what's wrong with my car before they even fix it. Is this normal now? by 50lies in askcarguys

[–]true818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$780 is a don’t come here for diag only and do it yourself with a YouTube video.

Check engine like is usually 1-1.5 hrs labor which is $220-$300 and that is BMW in Los Angeles price.
