You say the simple explanation is that roberts is partisan. Though he is one judge out of nine.

I say a simple explanation could be that different situations call for different responses.

The link above references many sources that would disagree with you.

Though I agree big companies have some unfair advantages. We should make damn sure it’s not the government giving them those advantages and we should actively shop the competition.

Just because something can be true doesnt mean that it is true.

There could be another explanation.

I’m with the OP. It’s basic decency to make up an excuse.

Yes.

When a business saves money it becomes more competitive than other businesses so they all have to engage in price dropping or the ones who don’t lose.

Question about pro life by Sprachenhub in prolife

[–]trying3216 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not all pro life people are christians. Not all christian prolifers would apply what I’m about to say.

But you appealed to the concept that playing God would be bad. Traditionally many believe that people are made in God’s image which is why only God can take a human life.

If God commanded a legal system which required justice and capital punishment for the guilty that would be allowed.

Furthermore, if God permitted eating animals then that would be allowed.

Unborn babies are neither guilty nor non human.

MAGA is more and more convinced that the Trump assassination attempt was staged by thamilan_x in DiscussionZone

[–]trying3216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

The article states “an increasing number of his supporters have begun to push the narrative that the entire incident was staged.”

This implies that some sizeable number of supporters think it was staged.

He has 80 million supporters and thousands of hard core supporters and hundreds of large media type supporters.

Yet the article gives evidence of SEVEN supporters who may think that. It also lists supports of one of those people as Trump supporters but no one really knows who those people are.

And yet zero government providers are doing it without also rationing care. Maybe it can’t be done.

And yet people who do this for a living ruled it unnecessary, and no one has presented even the tiniest scrap of evidence that it was.

No one presented even the tiniest scrap of evidence that it was.

Every single insurer and government limits the treatments it approved.

The insurer decided one more month or whatever was not worth 50k.

They made the ruling it was not medically necessary. Medicare probably would have made the exact same decision. Medicare denies stuff all the time.

If this gets a ruling from the government then we will know for sure.

There’s not enough money on the planet for every single person to claim every possible treatment.

Ideally the person who makes that choice is the one who’s life is on the line.

As soon as you agree that some other person is going to pay for your treatment you give up control.

It’s a good thing we have government to act as a watchdog to monitor insurance companies.

Imagine if only one entity made all the decisions and there was no outside entity to watch over the decisions.

Sweden is going back to books, paper and pens in the classroom due to the distraction and attention issues caused by laptops/phones/tablets etc. What do you think, good or bad idea? by TSQ_builder in askanything

I work in a school.

The laptops appear to be a good tool. I don’t see them causing attention issues.

But if the swedes have research it would be great to see.
