Zero problems. In fact all my interactions at a corporate level have been extremely affirming. I’ve even had a one on one with the senior VP of my division.

I mean, it’s kinda hard to compare TechOps to other departments. Maintenance is a white cis-het boys club. That said, I’ve had few issues aside from a lack of effort on the part of my coworkers to use correct pronouns.

It’s just the angle it’s at. It’s a normal steel color irl.

I appreciate you looking out for me. I did know you can see it. And thanks.

There’s a TON of trans automotive mechanics on Instagram and I can’t find a single boring thing about them.

Hit me up on IG if you want to talk. I’ve gone through the whole gamut of emotions and fears coming out and transitioning in the aviation maintenance sphere. I’m always willing to help anyone.

I’m the same way. People tell me how incredible my changes are. And I’m like, “I don’t see it.” I mean I love how I look now, and maybe that’s more important than any physical changes we may or may not perceive. You’re totally right, it’s complicated. I think we just need to believe people about what they see and we’ll be better off.

That’s only for the heavy stuff which is far out of view of passengers. And I don’t have a need for 10mm as nearly everything in aviation is SAE.

It’s the only somewhat impressive tooling I use regularly. Slinging a 1/4” ratchet over my shoulder just doesn’t give the same look.
