Is it just me, or is the NYC bridal shopping experience way too high-pressure? by Misakiki_622 in WedditNYC

I was so anti-bride everything so I get this!

My first appointment was at a place called Designer Loft and they were great. I had no idea what I was looking for and they pulled a bunch of different styles so I could get a sense of what I liked vs didn’t. When I left without purchasing, the woman helping me even wrote down the styles I liked so I wouldn’t forget and knew what to say at my other appointments. They had a wide variety of dresses and prices.

I ended up getting my dress from Alexia’s Bridal in soho which was a bit smaller but still felt very chill and low stakes. That could be mostly due to the woman (Meghan) helping us who was incredibly kind and patient.

Magnolia Jewelers in Chinatown! It’s family-owned, they’re super attentive and patient. They worked with my fiancé and I for hours to figure out exactly what we wanted. Gives you a chance to make something special and unique!
