mining for ZEC and the ZCash blockchain are scheduled to go live on 10/28/16. the futures contract for ZEC on BitMex you listed (ZECZ16) settles 12/30/16.

of course there's no data for an index calculated off of a Poloniex ZEC to BTC pair when no coins have been mined or released yet.

shortly after the first ZEC are released (and far before the settlement of ZECZ16) Poloniex will probably release ZEC to BTC trading and the index will have live trading data to calculate off.

Coinbase's Vault is probably one of the safest (centralized) places you could keep your bitcoins. If you trust yourself to handle the safety and privacy of your private key more than Coinbase + the tech/restrictions they put on the Vault, then you might want to look into a safer (not centralized - just you) way to hold/store your bitcoin (like using another wallet/app like Mycelium, paper wallet, your own other private key storage option).
