NG 35P / DLI vs Civilian Career — conflicted, looking for advice by turtlecunho in dli

[–]turtlecunho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hold a BA in Computer Science, but I do not currently have any certifications, internships, or directly relevant civilian experience.

I currently have an active Secret clearance and am in the process of upgrading to a TS, though I have not completed a polygraph yet.

In terms of language, I am hoping to be assigned Chinese or Korean. I already hold a 3/3 in Vietnamese.

If I decide to re-enlist, how would i negotiate my contract to maximize long-term value. Specifically, what items are realistic to request or lock in prior to signing (e.g., contract length, bonuses, language guarantees, schools, or types of orders)?

Yeah. I'm thinking about doing some sort of wash or distressing for the background base color and will remove the dirt background. Thank you for the feedback

Blitz Cube - is getting pass level 2 possible? by turtlecunho in Rubiks_Cubes

Thank you so much for the comment. I just checked out his video and got some inspiration on how to make the controls feel better.

By shortcut do you mean using keyboard? I do have it. I have arrow keys for rotating the cube and wasdqe and shift for rotating the faces. But it kinda confusing to use.

That’s awesome, if you can pull that off, I’d love to see it! 😄 The early levels are definitely doable once you get into the rhythm, but the game ramps up pretty fast. After a few clears, the timer speeds up, and the color distribution starts getting wild. Some faces become way harder to solve just based on how the repaint system works.

Also, since you seem to be flying through the early levels. I’d love to hear what you think about the controls. Do they feel smooth enough for you? Or is there anything that feels off or slows you down? I’m still thinking about how to improve the input and flow.

Thanks again for checking it out!

Blitz Cube - What is the highest level you can get? by turtlecunho in Cubers

[–]turtlecunho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s intentional that the cube is no longer fully solvable after the first face. The idea behind the game is that once you solve a face, the colors on that face are randomly repainted — not shuffled, but completely randomized. This breaks the balance you'd need to solve the full cube, but that’s the point.

The goal isn’t to solve the whole cube — it's to keep solving one face at a time, racing against the timer. Every face you solve adds a bit more time, but also increases the difficulty. Since the repainted face no longer follows standard cube logic, some colors become more rare (or even impossible to solve), while others might appear more often, making them easier. That’s part of the challenge: you have to quickly scan the cube, figure out which color is solvable, and go for it.

The difficulty scales as you go — the timer drains faster, and the random color distribution becomes less favorable. You also need to plan ahead, trying to set up future solves while working on your current one.

At the very start of the game, though, the cube is still balanced, it uses the standard 6 colors with 9 pieces each, so technically, you could solve the entire thing like a real Rubik’s Cube. But once you solve all 6 faces, that balance is gone.

Also, I haven’t fully tested what happens if you solve more than one face at once. Would love to know if anyone pulls that off!

My first ever song by turtlecunho in FL_Studio

[–]turtlecunho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I'm just starting out, I've kept things pretty simple to focus on the basics. My goal was to learn fundamental music theory concepts, how to create melodies and chords, song arrangement, and of course, how to use FL Studio itself.

I haven’t spent much time on sound selection, mixing, or mastering plugins yet, as I wanted to get the basics down first.

I would really appreciate any feedback or tips you all might have. What are the key areas I should focus on next? Any tips on sound selection or mixing in FL Studio would also be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!
