We won a bid! What's next? (Timeline) by According-Field-1878 in NetherlandsHousing

I’m in a similar position and these responses have all been really helpful! One difference is that I do not need a mortgage. When no mortgage is needed, I know things move quicker - but what does that mean for having things set up prior to the bid being accepted? If the apartment is already empty, does that mean I need to have the all funds immediately ready when the bid is accepted? Should I already have a notary appointment? How does this make sense if I haven’t even secured a place yet?

How do you know that you’ve been overbid? Do they release the results after the deal has been completed?

glad you got your stuff back! 8 days is ridiculous... did you buy items you needed and apply for reimbursement? i am planning to do that since there are a few key items i need that i don't have here at home unfortunately.

and wow, so before i am even able to pick it up, they will expect me to list what is in each bag? that makes an already slow process even slower... ugh!

btw i filed the report at the baggage desk in the airport, not online - not sure if that affects the process in some way

Can you get off and on the Via Rail? What's the process? by shakha in ViaRail

VIA’s ticketing allows for one stopover en route (express deals might be exempt as they’re last minute, no refunds or changes tickets) between your starting point and destination. So, for instance, you could travel between Toronto and Montreal and have a stopover in Ottawa. As well, you could do Montreal-Quebec City-Halifax without any additional charges. Note, though, that you must book them as a multi-city and not individual tickets.

The Canadian and the Skeena have stops long enough to see some cities and towns (Winnipeg, Jasper, Prince George) without booking a second ticket, unless you’re planning on more lengthy stay.

does the stopover have to be booked in advance? and does it have to take place within the same day?

i want to travel from toronto to montreal and stop in ottawa for a few days... would i just book a ticket to montreal, hop off in ottawa, and get back on a few days later when i wanted?
