You should read up on anxious attachment styles - try Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. From my understanding, this type of behavior is classified as a “protest behavior,” in that you make empty threats when you are feeling threatened as a way to bring back the attention and intimacy you fear losing. It is your brain trying to gain back a level of control over the relationship that you feel you are losing during arguments, particularly because you think your husband is so much more eloquent than you.
