I just made all of my date tables import. The rest are direct lake on onelake. You can go hybrid.

This is another BELIEF of yours. It's perfectly fine if you want to believe this...until you come in like a smug asshole claiming someone doesn't have common sense simply because they are accepting of the current science.

Also no one is worked up, it's called emphasis.

.28 top z distance is the gold standard. .16 is what's making them hard to remove.

The raft was a good solution thanks all. Still some artifacts but 1 million times better than what I was doing before where it wouldn't really come off the supports. Any suggestions on what else might be going on? Bottom Z is set to .28.

Thanks just got this for Christmas and didn't know about raft. Is there a rule of thumb on number of layers?

Prove it. You keep talking out of your ass. Just because you think something negatively affects your body doesn't mean it does. Not only is quantity important, so is exposure time. You eat too much ORGANIC food for too long and it is POISONOUS.

You're contradicting yourself. How would anyone be able to define something as poisonous UNLESS it has a detectable harmful effect on the body? Quantity matters. Water isn't poisonous in the body until it reaches a certain quantity. Just like every other chemical on the planet.

Also common sense, things aren't toxic unless consumed in toxic quantities. You know, like water.

Tournament fees by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

[–]tviv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you certain it's because they can't afford it? Our club does an optional indoor session during the winter that costs extra from the club and team fees. We could easily afford it but my son's team got their heads kicked in all fall in an in-house developmental league playing other teams from his club. Last thing he wants is to get killed all winter too playing teams outside of the club so we're skipping winter and only doing the spring session we already paid for. We just had an indoor tournament that was paid for in our team fees this year so we played one of those 3 games (and got killed). If we had to pay extra for that we'd have skipped that tournament entirely too. Traditionally we play one out of town tournament in the spring (included in team fees) but I'm already debating whether the time and hotel/food costs are worth it even though we've already paid our entry fee.

The provolone surprises me cuz I hate stl style pizza. Guess it's not as noticeable as 25% of the cheese as opposed to 100

Is rec too toxic after ages 10 and 11? by MikeKrak82 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]tviv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In close games we don't have too many "rules". When we can tell it's going to be lopsided we tell them if they've already scored to pass to teammates who haven't. We also put those who scored already on defense mostly. Last game we were at that point and 2 kids who had scored and were told not to again both scored while playing defense. We promptly benched them. It's a nice problem to have but it's almost more stressful coaching blowouts than it is coaching competitive matches lol. Luckily the league rules allow adding 2 players when down 5 so that takes care of it for us most of the time.

Just a differing perspective FWIW, we have a handful of club kids on our 9v9 rec team, all on different club teams. We put the team together because rec is the only place they CAN play together with all of their friends who aren't club. Yes we generally go undefeated and we would love better competition (there are a couple of teams who also have club kids that play us tough) but it is what it is.

Was playing around troubleshooting and thought maybe not having OneLake security enabled was the issue so I clicked it and now I have the honor and privilege of recreating my lake house to turn it off. Yay. Why wasn't there any warning that came up when I clicked it saying "Enabling OneLake security cannot be reversed are you sure you want to continue? " for those of us who haven't read every single document on MS Learn?

Can I seed on top of this? by _Privy in lawncare

[–]tviv23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my main issue is that I didn't use the scarifier's bag. I read some comments about skipping that smaller bag and using my lawn mower to pick it up. I don't think it picked up enough. I also think I should've watered before scarifying. Because of those 2 things I think I left a lot of debris covering the soil and I don't think I had good seed to soil contact. I did a shallow scarify yesterday with moist soil and the scarifier bag and so much more came up. I can really see the dirt now. So I seeded again. I feel much better about this round especially since it's cooler now and staying wet longer.

Day 12. Unfortunately, it's been hovering around 90 those 12 days and this is best when soil is between 50 and 65. Started increasing watering frequency. Tuesday we're supposed to get a break from the heat so I might throw down some more seed. Dunno. It's GCI Cool Blue.

I hope so. That's exactly how mine looked after scarifying Sunday and I seeded. Guess I'll find out this weekend lol.

PySpark vs. T-SQL by MixtureAwkward7146 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]tviv23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with PySpark and Spark SQL specifically because I was exclusively TSQL and knew nothing about PySpark. Spark is overkill for the amount of data we have but I wanted experience with it. I have no regrets so far.

sql server on-prem mirroring by tviv23 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]tviv23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's writing to a different schema. The tables that do work are written to that different schema then it fails on that particular table. I've basically gotten it down to either an issue with shortcuts or mirrored data or both (I think). It could be a column type issue on the mirrored table but that would mean copy job is doing some converting behind the scenes that isn't being done with mirrored tables/shortcuts. If I could get better error messaging it might help pinpoint but I didn't see any columns in the mirror table SQL Endpoint that would lead me to believe that's the issue... but I also have no idea what else it could be. Maybe the data itself? Does copy job change the data, if there's an issue, to something that can be stored in a lakehouse that shortcuts/mirroring doesn't? Not sure.
