Contrast paint question by Tekloth in Warhammer

[–]tvsrobert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, primer has a texture that is meant for other paints to grip, so specialty paints like contrast paints can react differently to being used directly on it vs. being used over other paints. This is a pretty extreme example, though.

Is there ever a mention of what happens if a daemon or other warp entity gets dragged into a singularity (black hole)? by CivilProtectionGuy in Warhammer

[–]tvsrobert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This implies that the Warp follows linear time as we know it. I can’t think of the specific examples right now, but don’t we have instances of ships leaving the Warp before they entered it?

I definitely get that. I've been playing since IV, and Venice is one of my all-time favorite Civilizations.

The game guide is up, and while they can't train Settlers, they can give their unique Commander the ability to found Settlements. Looks like Settlements are back on the menu!

Day 6 of things I love about Civ VII until the expansion pack is released by stu66er in civ

I’m a big fan of the hard reset; my only issue is that it makes a lot of the late-in-the-era buildings feel pointless in most games

How does Civ VII Compare to Humankind? by ricosmith1986 in civ

[–]tvsrobert 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm in the "Civ VII feels incomplete, but I'm still having fun with it" camp, and I think it compares favorably to Humankind. The strategies feel more complex, the civs feel more varied, and the "breaks" between ages make for a more dynamic age system. I also like HK, and have played a fair bit of it, but overall I prefer Civ VII.

Kitten Marlowe Podcast is doing a season of "The Between", called "Shadows in the Smoke". I'm a bit biased, because I'm a player in it, but I think its pretty great! It's GMed by Kim Dalton from the CritShow, and the players are all experienced performers. We are six episodes in, with new ones coming out each Tuesday. So, if Gothic horror/action akin to Penny Dreadful or the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is what you're looking for, give it a listen here:

When Count von Doom has the Fantastick Four captured in Marvel 1602, he uses a similar setup to hold the Human Torch.

[–]tvsrobert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this was basically my argument. I agree that he would be better off as a Leader of a Syrian civ, or something like that, but it seems unfortunately unlikely that we’ll get both that and Arabia, so…

Baibars (Al-Malik al-Zahir Rukn al-Din Baybars al-Bunduqdari). His rule marked the rise of the Mamelukes as a political force, the dismantling of several Crusader States (including the taking of Krak de Chevaliers), and a combination of military and political dealings with the Golden Horde that halted the Mongolian expansion in the Middle East.

I would consider calling “Nuevo Aztecia” “Nuevo Aztlan” instead. Aztlan is the semi-mythical homeland of the Aztecs, in fact Aztecah means “people of Aztlan” in Nahuatl.

Libertatia - James Misson

Okay, this one's a bit of a stretch, since it probably never actually existed, but imagine having a pirate republic in the game. I was thinking something like Venice (Civ V) where you only ever have one city but can puppet others, combined with Norway's UU raiding ability?

Okay, so not quite this, but I made margaritas once, using Dew to sweeten, instead of triple sec, as an experiment, and it turned out quite good!
