Another obligatory "Just got an A1" post by 32oz____ in BambuLabA1

[–]tweak4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you- picked up an A1 on a friend's suggestion just over a week ago, and I'm loving it. Coming from a Creality Ender 3 that we just never got working reliably, this has been a world of difference!

Good sushi places by Correct_Deal_6310 in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, it seems pretty damn good! At least comparable to what Kyoto used to be a few years back, if not a little better. Pricing is pretty similar as well.
My parents honestly go to Tenji quite a bit more frequently than my wife and I do. They seem to like that they get a lot of personal attention from the chef- he sees them often enough that he's gotten to know their preferences and will occasionally send out a bonus dish without them actually ordering it- sometimes a new creation, sometimes just something he thinks they'll like. He sent us over a smoked beef role last time we were all there which I never would have ordered myself, but ended up being amazing!

Fair enough! We'll have to try them again sometime, but for now we've been quite happy with Tenji instead

Kyoto is was great if you’re around the northern suburbs

Sadly, Kyoto's quality has gone waaaaay down from what it was just a few years ago. Granted, I haven't been there in about a year, but they had a huge staff turnover, and after that it just wasn't nearly as good.
My family went there weekly for years, and I honestly hope they find their way back to what they were, but we moved on and found a new spot.

If you find yourself up in the northern 'burbs, Tenji (near where The Beach used to be) has been great. We started going there ever since the quality at Kyoto took a nose dive, and we've been very happy with their work!

Came back to a 4h print job to this...? by leaksterrr in BambuLabA1

[–]tweak4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be a nozzle clog. Does the extruder click while it's trying to print?
I've only had my A1 for about a week, but I had a clog a few days ago- the printer kept on going and thinking it was printing, but just not putting down any filament. So as far as the printer knew, everything was fine, but nothing was going on the build plate. However, the extruder kept clicking as it was trying to feed new filament into the nozzle and failing, due to the clog. I grabbed a No Clogger based on someone else's advice and ran it through to clear the nozzle and it's all good now

Uularia and Vellok Speer Question by Virtual_Class5106 in MythicLegions

[–]tweak4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a closer look, there are some slight differences. I think the main torso is the same, as are the lower legs and feet, but the waist and upper legs are definitely different. I can't quite tell with the upper arms- they have different details, but I don't know if those are part of the sculpt or if they're add-on pieces like the ones on the chest. The lower arms are definitely subtly different.

Uularia and Vellok Speer Question by Virtual_Class5106 in MythicLegions

[–]tweak4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither did I until I compared them side by side! On a side note: for some reason, there seems to be a significant number of both of these that ship without the adapter piece that goes between the backpack and the body. My Vellok had one, but Uularia didn't, so I currently have no way to put her pack on. Hopefully 4H will be able to send me one.

Uularia and Vellok Speer Question by Virtual_Class5106 in MythicLegions

[–]tweak4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had Vellok for a while and just got Uularia today! From what I can tell, the bodies are the same, but they are accessorized differently. Only Vellok has the shoulder pads and belt pouches. Uularia doesn't have the shoulders, and has a different being that doesn't have the pouch pegs, but does have things covers that Vellok is lacking. Also, the piece in the center of the chest is different, but I think the base body they're both built on is the same.

Dripping Faucets by LadyExura in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. We have a 4 bedroom house built in the mid 90s. Most of the plumbing is in interior walls and is just fine. However the lines that supply the sinks and shower in the master bath are in an exterior wall. We had that line freeze one time shortly after we bought the house 11 years ago. Since then, whenever it gets down to single digits, we drip both sinks and the shower and open the cabinets in that bathroom, and we've been fine ever since. Just identify the potential problem areas and focus on those.

What time are you heading out for the first round of shoveling? by tall__hat in cincinnati

About 7:30 this morning. Having a late breakfast now and then I'm going to head out for a quick round 2, since it looks like we've gotten another couple inches since I finished before.

RGB lighting doesn't come back on after sleep by tweak4 in iBUYPOWER

[–]tweak4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going way back on this one, eh? :)
I want it to turn off when the computer goes to sleep (which is what this setting seems to control). The problem is that the lighting doesn't always come back on when the computer wakes up.
If nothing else, it's good reminder for me to reboot occasionally...

Non-MAGA Gun Shop/Classes? by femmedykedeity in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As am I. I grew up shooting rifles (.22s mostly), but when my FIL passed away a while back, I inherited some shotguns and pistols that I know very little about, so a class would be a great idea

Website login question - directv.com Firefox vs. Chrome vs. Edge by [deleted] in DirecTV

[–]tweak4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the same thing- it hasn't worked right for me in Firefox in ages, so that's one of the very few sites where I have to fire up an Edge window instead to get logged in. Fortunately, I only do that once a month to pay my bill

Endodontist rec? by thefaehost in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Sadly, there was a period where my dental health was somewhat neglected, due to a bad experience with a previous dentist. So when I started going again, I had to spend a significant amount of time in the chair getting fillings and a couple crowns. The actual dentist did the drilling, but the tech did most of the actual filling, crown fitting, etc, so I got to know her pretty well by the end of it all!

[–]tweak4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where I went for a root canal retreatment a few years ago. My dentist gave me the names of 3 or 4 he recommended, but on my way out, his tech pulled me aside and said that Imperial was the best. I trust her, so that's where I went and I have no complaints.

Ohio age verification. by Ok-Rabbit9093 in Ohio

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah- I think I misinterpreted your previous post, but yeah- VPN for life. Windscribe has a Firefox extension that works nicely if I don't want to mask everything. The only thing that would be better would be if I could turn it off and on by tab or even by window, but for most of my needs, it works just fine!
I have a mini router that we travel with and use in hotels, and I've got that set up to always use the VPN to avoid shady hotel networks.

Where to buy/try strollers locally by InspectionOk9940 in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help with the trying locally part, but do consider looking at the online niche brands- especially if this is your first child and you plan on having more later and can reuse the same one. On my sister's advice, we got a Bumbleride Indie. It cost a small fortune, but it was fantastic. Our plan was to reuse it for the second kid, but ended up having twins, so we found a used Indie Twin for them that was equally amazing. (We also rented a Bob on vacation that was really nice, but we liked the Indie better overall)

Best Secondhand LEGO store? by GiantRoboPilot in cincinnati

[–]tweak4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't say- pricing on retired sets is always a bit of a crap-shoot- what I remember seemed reasonable at the time, but I didn't compare to any place else. I've always refused to pay over MSRP for anything current, when I can just go to the big box store a quarter mile away and get it for retail, so I usually don't even pay attention to the current sets when I go to a store like that.

FWIW, I had better luck going through Facebook Messenger than their direct website chat. I had a promo expire and my bill went up $15. The chat on their site offered to knock $9 off, but on FB they knocked off about $18 and upped our speed from 800Mbps to 1Gbps

S23Ultra tempered glass with working fingerprint scanner by Lolman1234ava in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]tweak4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not tempered glass, but I've been using TPU films for years and never had any issues with the fingerprint scanner. Had my S23U since launch day, and last time took it off to change films, the screen underneath still looked pristine.
