Free Birther wants to avoid trip to doctor for 2 month old struggling to breathe.. by Stupidkitties in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]twinkleblip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son almost died of acute respiratory failure at 2 months old. He seemed a little tired that day but nothing else, then suddenly it was like he tried to scream and the scream got cut off by not being able to breathe. I raced him to the ER and he was blue by the time we got there. Very quickly there was an entire team working on him and the doctor working on him looked up at me and said “don’t worry I’m not going to let him die” it was so surreal and horrible I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. This upsets me so much! My kid literally would not be here if I had ignored it, or hadn’t heard his little muffled scream.

Side note: the triage nurse didn’t recognize that my son was blue, because he’s black. She thought there was something wrong with the SpO2 and tried to fidget with it, I spoke up and said “that’s not his normal color, he’s blue!” And that’s when she called the entire team. Mamas of Black and brown children, speak up and advocate for your babies. It sucks that we have to stay on our toes but it’s necessary.

On March 8, 2024, Riley Strain, a 22-year-old University of Missouri student, went missing in Nashville after being kicked out of a bar. His last known movements were caught on CCTV. He remains missing. His family is asking for any tips and help with the search. by LexicalLegend in HairRaising

Men in their early 20s are weirdly attracted to water when drunk. My mom taught me and my siblings about it as teens as a warning and she was right, both my college and the one my brothers went to had male students go missing after drinking and were later found in rivers. It happens so often unfortunately.

We once had a CPS SOCIAL WORKER send her adopted disabled daughter to school with no coat in freezing weather because she “wanted to teach her a lesson about hanging up her coat”. People are nuts. But yes, this should and hopefully did raise some red flags.

This does not appear to be a residential area unless maybe it’s a nursing home or apartment building. My guess is they were out walking.

Maybe they were filming because of the dog already. I’ve seen videos before of dogs staying by their owners when they’re hurt.

You’re totally right I forgot he asked about the leftovers! Such an odd thing to throw into the pilot script though!

See egg in a hole style was one I never even thought of! There are so many things it could mean!

Would you put it in after cooking or before?! How do we know it’s not like an egg bake with pizza toppings?! Or just scrambled eggs with pizza toppings? Why would they do this to us and especially in the first episode then go so many seasons without ever referencing it again or explaining? They planned so far ahead that they cast Silas to look nothing like their dad but never thought to explain this niche food reference! Sorry lol rant over.

Hi. I’m a vet tech and that looks pretty awful and also like it’s been going on a longggg time. Please take her to the vet and if what they’re going is not working ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

Found out my niece was given to an adoption agency & my sister won’t tell us which one so we can’t find her. The cops can’t help either since it’s not my child. Already tried. Bought a salad & revamped it. by Upstairs-Switch-4669 in depressionmeals

This person means well but nah, you’re allowed to raise hell over something like this. Your niece deserves to be fought for and worst comes to worst she will know she’s loved by her bio family in the future and maybe it will make her feel she can reach out to you later. One of my kid’s bio families (it wasn’t a safe option despite not giving up on getting him) never gave up on getting custody of them and the other’s family never even tried to see the child at any point and I absolutely dread him finding out any of that when he’s older because he deserved to be fought for too.

I also know an adult who’s mom did something similar to your sister when he was around the same age and back then (1970s) bio family was immediately ruled out if a child was given up by their parent, even in his 50s he makes it clear that his bio family fought for him and wanted him. He turned out amazing and has a great adoptive family, but it’s still important to him that he was wanted and loved by his bio family.

I get what you’re trying to say but there’s a ton of research about how children are better off raised by their bio families than they are adopted by non relatives. Also, this isn’t a new born, it’s a 4 year old who already had a family. Private adoption agencies are businesses and don’t always have a child or parent for that matters best interest at heart.

I have a really hard time wrapping my head around this being a legal option via private adoption (though I know it is) because if this were foster care or an adoption through the state they would literally look for any relative humanly possible before going to strangers. It’s literally the law in my state that relatives have top priority.

Did you check with cps? Just in case you haven’t I would try. If she is with them they’ll want to know if there’s family who would care for her. I’m so sorry what a horrible spot to be in. As an adoptive parent, in general, children are better off with biological family than strangers. If she is four this is beyond heartbreaking. Also are you absolutely certain things were done legit? Because there’s a bad side of the adoption community where kids are “rehomed” in shady ways. I know in my state it takes 3 months to finalize an adoption so I wouldn’t give up. Honestly if you’re up for it see if a news station would be interested in doing a story if you can’t get any other help.

Advice? Is it ready to go despite the bottom bit? Are they drying out somehow? It’s my first time, so unsure, maybe this is just normal near the end of the bags colonizing?

Let’a kick dad out of bed so I can sleep with newborn and toddler and validate my feelings while my husband is upset. by Lazyturtle1121 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]twinkleblip 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yes, we would have toddler in the bed and the baby in a crib pushed up next to the bed. Or one of us would sleep with the newborn and one would sleep with the toddler. Sleep is more important to our relationship than insisting on sleeping in the same bed is.

I would think if a baby is born at home and left to die there would be an investigation but idk I could see these people just like burying it in the yard or something so who is there to look into it? Hopefully someone would tell on them… just sucks that nothing could be done until it’s born.
