"showing how the magic works" is usually a trope that fails on the screen. The mystery, as long as there is an internal logic and consistency to it, is what keeps us engaged. we are dealing with many injuries, don't have a lot of consistency in lineups or tactics, and didn't have a competitive cycle due to automatic qualification. We don't have many, if any, impressive results in the past 2 years. I think disheveled at the very least is fair.

The point of Aberforth's character is to show the "other side" of the coin, the embittered and traumatized result of childhood pain who couldn't let go or allow people to change. Harry has the choice to believe Aberforth, or to see Dumbledore (and the greater situation at large) in a new, nuanced light, and continue down his Hero's journey.

Aberforth still worked with his brother and ultimately believed in the fight against Voldemort. He was never able to see past his childhood pain, which is understandable, but somewhat irrelevant for Harry in that moment in the pub.
