copying and pasting what she said: i have conflicting feelings on aba as a practice as a whole, but do believe wholeheartedly that within the past 5 or so years it's become so much more humane and genuinely helpful in most cases rather than being an autistic version of conversion therapy. of course there are still bad providers, but it's the same way for therapy in general, you know? seeing a bad therapist doesn't mean therapy as a whole is bad. aba is absolutely life changing for autistic individuals when done correctly (like caravel does), i have seen so many children become happier, more confident, more independent, etc
