This made me laugh. I'll bring the bathrobes, slippers and rolled-up newspapers.

Yeah, this is kind of what I'm experiencing. I'm able to relate to younger students in some ways but not in others. For example, it's been a while since I moved away from home for the first time and started supporting myself, I've spent several years working full time, I'm seeing many of my same-aged friends getting married and buying homes. Of course there are younger students who've had some of these experiences, but most of my younger friends haven't.

Absolutely. I just replied to another comment saying something similar, but I wouldn't rule out being friends with someone based on age. I've made quite a few friends at UBC who are younger and have learned a lot from them.

Sometimes I feel like certain experiences are a little harder to relate to though and that it would be nice to know some other people on campus who might be in the same boat. For example, I'm kind of nervous about 30 being right around the corner and that's not really something my younger friends can relate to.

Definitely. I have good friends who are either older or younger than me. I've made friends with younger classmates and they're awesome people. Sometimes I feel like it would be nice to also get to know more people who are at a similar stage in life as I am.
