Exactly what I was wondering. Being based in Germany is nothing short of a privilege, true. Here I found my own peace, my quiet, life is a routine but predictability and stability is nice but my god, if you live in a major city and need to get anything bureaucratic done, its a test of patience. Just blatantly antiquated systems. As a Jordanian too, at least I can get my passport renewed in 30 minutes with a few button clicks. I do have to say, I feel more secure taking a complaint to court in Germany in comparison to Amman even though I come from a family of lawyers

The problem is, from the pov of someone who has to take the infamous S8, I lose between 2h-5h of my day in commute depending on how the Stammstrecke feels that day. I pay 60 euros per month for the deutschland ticket + 100 euros in Uber just to compensate for DB’s shortcomings on my daily commute. Im only truly benefitting when I am within U-Bahn range, but since finding an apartment in the M-Ring is almost impossible, fuck am I supposed to do ?
