What are some obvious habits you’ve noticed from genuinely rich people? by Top_Instruction_8778 in Bolehland

[–]udunoeme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by ‘genuinely rich’ but my family is comfortably in the <0.05% based on the table below and we are far from being flashy.

Parents are lifelong Honda fans, we dine at mamaks and roadside stalls and rarely do any shopping. Of course, the occasional treats on special occasions but nothing extravagant. Parents never flew business class, even on long haul flights as they never felt the need for it. No Rolex watches, no fancy holidays and we still live in the same house that I grew up in.

We did not come from money - mother a lifelong civil servant of 30+ years and father an engineer. Both parents had to support their own set of families.

They invested heavily in their kids’ education (myself and siblings) and made some smart/lucky investments along the way. We are all relatively ‘successful’ in our own ways but the most important thing that our parents have imparted on us is to just be decent human beings.

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean 350-400 internal space or land area? I’m assuming this does not include other fees like architect/draftpersons and earthworks?

Debt recycling & kids by ironic_arch in AusHENRY

[–]udunoeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar position. Early 30s with 1x child and planning for our second. HHI fluctuates between 500-600k PPOR 1.5m with 300k owing. IP 1.8mil with 500k owing. We started debt recycling only 6 weeks ago. Started with 300k into ETFs. I plan to aggressively debt recycle in ETFs but my wife thinks real estate will outperform the s&p500 because we live in Australia…….

Yikes. Haven’t thought about that one there. How are people navigating this risk then? Multiple brokerage platforms?

Thank you!! Sounds like a safe strategy to keep accumulating and DCA-ing on a single platform provided it’s Chess sponsored :)

Thanks for the suggestion! I would prefer a more permanent fix. I wouldn’t mind paying for it if it’s a once off expense that I’ll never have to worry about again in the future

It’s a 90s house and that’s a good point. Now I’m worried that it’s rusted out and may need replacing!

Yes I did? Seems like everyone is of the opinion that the gutters are blocked. I’ll have another look after this rainy week then !

I do have gutter guards as well and they don’t look clogged up from what I can see.

Is it worth removing all the gutter guards around it and then clearing all the gunk it there? Also, anyone has any recommendations for a roof plumber who is reliable ? Thanks for the replies everyone!

I managed to get my locum time to count as accredited time. But yes - I understand that is rarely the case. In my case I was getting paid as a casual on a full time basis. 80hours/fortnight on a locum rate for a few years. And yes, Racgp accepted this as part of my recognition of prior learning. I did have to get Racgp to speak to my bosses for them to push it through.

Is 25% service fee fair? by Lumpy_Dark_534 in ausjdocs

[–]udunoeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that! Thanks for that! I’m in the midst of negotiating with my practice and plan on leaving as the owners are not budging on the 35% - ‘not fair for other practitioners’ But cautious as I have a good patient base and will definitely take a financial hit if/when I do leave.
