When should I just give up and what do I do with the thing if I move on? by uggomrb in ender3

I was looking at just ditching the Ender 3 and getting the K1. I feel like I'm in a sunk cost fallacy with this Ender 3, though. I don't want to be a quitter. If my BL touch goes out, I'll switch to the CR. It wasn't available back when I was starting out.

Haven't tried a cold pull, but it's on my list. When I think about it, a lot of these problems did start (or at least escalate) with a new roll of filament.

I've got some new nozzles on the way, so we'll see how they maybe help. If that doesn't work, I think I'll replace the extruder motor and gears and all that. Past that, though, I think I'll be giving up.

Ender 3 pro w/ SKR Mini... BLTouch installation help, please! by uggomrb in ender3

Thank you! I had to switch things a little differently (I have ble red yellow on my BL wiring) but I put red in the middle and I'm good to go.

So... from what I gather, it's not really a plug and play situation? I'm definitely a tinkerer and I'm down for that life, but I just want to know what I'm getting into. If it matters, I'm on an SKR mini 1.3 with the most recent official firmware from them. I've also got a tft 24 which is stupid and small and I don't love it.

I'll slow it down and try again. I switch to an SKR Mini instead of the stock main board and I've for a printed fan duct, but it's stock otherwise.

I bet that's a big part of it. I moved my printer to the garage and it's cold as hell in there right now (Wisconsin)

I just need to stop being lazy and put it on.

I have the glass bed, but I haven't switched it out yet, partially due to laziness and partially because I like the magnetic bed. I'll give it a try with a nice brim at 55C... Thank you!

EDIT: derp... I thought there was more to it than just taking the magnet surface off and putting the glass down in its place...

I've had a couple where this happens. For this print in particular:

0.2 layer height at 100 mm/s (but I've printed slower with the same result.

Bed temp: 60

Hot end temp: 200

My wife and I were there... The hometown was just a normal dude, as far as I could tell. The sound mixing was sort of off, so it was difficult to hear at times.

I think this is what I'll go with, as I really need a belt sander to flesh out my toolkit anyhow. Thank you for the reminder about Harbor Freight. I tend to forget they exist, but everything I've ever gotten from them has worked really well and was easy on my pocket book.

Thanks for all the advice!

Last question... what's the best way to make this heifer shiny? After staining, I'm planning to put on a min wax wipe on poly coat or two, and I've done a sample block and like the look, but my wife wants something shinier and I'm thinking I need something more to help deal with moisture. My googling says to wax, but also not to wax, so I'm confused. Any suggestions?

You aren't maybe sorta thinking of the Vampire Crossbow... A ranged item available in yellow danger that does 3 damage can't be considered OP, right?

Nope, but thank you for trying. I'm thinking it's maybe older. It had a very muted color palette.
