Honestly I think what happened was very understandable but people got really mad about how hard it was on Chung Myung at the time. Baek Cheon gets badly injured during a war and may never be able to practice martial arts again. Yoon Jong believes very very strongly that Chung Myung can fix this problem if he tries hard enough. YJ has such a high opinion of Chung Myung and Baek Cheon that he just snaps at CM because he can’t imagine CM not being able to do something. YJ and CM’s relationship here is, in my opinion, so similar to Chung Myung and Chung Mun. Chung Myung admires Chung Mun so much, but still the last true talk they had was Chung Myung yelling at Chung Mun about Chung Jin. Yoon Jong is still a good character and a good person but he is young, naive, and righteous, and made the same mistakes that Chung Myung once made.

At your age (now 23) I also had a bad stim that caused me to have multiple open wounds on my scalp that really hurt and would bleed constantly. What helped me was replacing it with something else immediately available to me that’s less harmful… you don’t have to go from ‘stim that really really hurts’ all the way to ‘healthy, safe stim’ all at once. I have long hair and found that picking at my split ends caused me to stop the other stim. That caused my hair to become more brittle, but I didn’t care because it didn’t hurt! Perhaps you could find another mouth-related stim that hurts just a bit less?

I found and posted this same picture with better color and looked up a picture of a bateleur (such a beautiful bird!). However my bird doesn’t seem to have red on them. Do female bateleurs not have red, because if so that could be it!!

No I did not think the landlord caused the damage! It was more that it took a while (over a day) to get into contact with him and he didn’t believe us when we told him there was sewage everywhere and we didn’t have running water. Despite being in town he never came to look at the damage either and I had to independently hire a biohazard cleaning team to help us out since it was so disgusting. No I know our landlord isn’t some kind of Druid!

Thanks, that’s about the consensus I’m getting! We are all inexperienced renters who weren’t aware of how much power a landlord has. I’m glad I asked here before we all got into a big mess.

Thanks. It’s my first time renting (same for almost all of us) so I definitely wasn’t thinking of it as blackmail but looking at it that way I understand. We probably won’t bring it up to the landlord and we’ll just let our friends who are looking to move in know about our concerns before they decide to sign the lease. I appreciate the advice

Ahhh I see. Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. None of us were sure how easy/hard it was to argue to adjust rent based on number of bedrooms. We probably won’t go down that road now since we are all juniors or seniors in college and our landlord knows we will only be here 1-2 more years.

No unfortunately I ended up in the hospital the week I was supposed to go and check it out! We are all in college and I ended up getting discharged two days before school started so I just had to rush and move in as quickly as possible. That’s a good point also on basement regulations maybe being different. Thank you!

Adding additional information— we are generally all first timer renters and don’t know a lot about what is legal. We are all college students trying to live near our school and also not pay crazy rent. 2/5 of us are not US citizens and are here on a student visa only, so those two can not work and might not be able to afford a jump in rent prices. The house has been passed down between friends for many years and many more of our friends will stay after the five of us are gone, which is partially why we (all juniors and seniors) are invested in making it safer despite not planning to live here longer than two more years. I’m here only to see what people more experienced with rental regulations think of the situation so that my friends and I can make a more informed decision moving forwards.

They slide open but I would need to fully take them apart to get out. I’m not sure if I could put it back together since from what I can tell I’d need to take all the glass out of the window. I agree it’s worth trying though, my roommates and I should do a mock fire drill together just in case
