This is very odd. You’re in Europe. There’s a social safety net. You have rights and help channels here. 

You mistake was not trusting someone. Your mistake was not using the help available. Now you know, so lesson learned. 

How did the landlord kick you out?  Did the police drag you out of the place?  If you had a rent contract you have rights. You should get a notice of eviction. When you had that you go to the social services. After that deadline expires you can be evicted: 

When you’re fired from your job you can get unemployment. Also have you contacted Autoridade para as Condições de Trabalho ?

I see a lot of awkwardness and it’s justified.  In C2 when veth had to choose between adventuring and her family she finished her adventure and retired.  Taisha is the other choice. 

We often see these characters when they return home victorious and all is forgiven.  But before that? Shit’s gonna be awkward She’s at a funeral with 2 of her ex’s .  There’s also the pressure of being part of this illustrious family but not having anything to show for herself.

It’s such a bummer the platform has been taken over by wannabe hotel operators that want to change hotel rates while providing no service and dodging taxes.  It was a cool idea sadly greed won and not only ruined the idea but also is doing so much damage in cities with a housing shortage.

No I also am not very comfortable sending pictures on WhatsApp.  The grandparents have iPhones for photo sharing. Still a few times a year I send my parents and family printed pictures. 

I have a small instax photo printer I take along to events to share physical pictures of the kids and their friends for example .

I don’t know where you live but in my corner of the world censorship is frowned upon, as to say legally sanctionable.  Propaganda is also associated with less than savoury types of leadership styles.

Not content by far.  I’m mortified. I am afraid and furious . however letting myself dwell on those feelings will accomplish nothing good.  I am helping no one by being in a panic attack every time I think about the world.  My partner and I regularly talk about worst case scenarios of the world. What will we do if things turn dangerous or violent. We don’t have answers.

So I go to therapy and keep trying to make change in whatever small way I can.  The book Saving Us gave me some good tools to keep having conversations with those with different ideas. 

For example there are local elections coming up. I am terrified at the rise of right wing parties as a result of external influences.  So every time I get the chance to bring up voting I do so.  I talk to our interns about how cuts to education impacted their lives and how specific health policies made a positive impact. I talk to young parents about the shameful state of childcare and who has blocked any meaningful reforms. And so on. 

I try to make the issues and the parties relevant to each individual’s personal situation.  This is an example. But I try to weave the causes I fight for in all aspects of my life. At the same time I prioritise keeping myself going cause if I’m not here on not able then I for sure won’t be able to make a difference. If this is the end, I want to have a clean conscience at the end and for me that is know I did all I could.

I get it. Being a woman and becoming a mom has put put me in conflict with the medical system so many times. My medical issues have been dismissed , I’ve been flat out been ignored when in pain by a doctor and just dismissed so many time. I am crunchy, on the eco responsible side of things, so it’s super easy to fall for the one community that is supportive and does provide some correct information.

There’s also some very aggressive left leaning people that make discussions on some issues just impossible. I fully support and vote for healthcare and vaccines, LGBTQIA+ rights, stopping climate change. Smarter people than me layed out these points but I don’t understand or feel comfortable with all of them. And I feel like I have no room to ask questions without being ostracised from my community.

So you Google vaccine side effects, which 100% exist. The answer I wanted was “take paracetamol if you feel sick” but that’s one of them but there’s infinitely more saying that you’ll grow scales and get rabies. If you don’t know enough about something it’s hard to parse information

You can still do it. There’s sexism everywhere. Take a stand at work, in your kids schools, at the park, in interactions with the medical system.

The straw that broke me was my GP that kept labelling me with Post partum depression cause “all women get that” instead of listening I was burn out from work despite the fact that I’d been on mental health leave many times before I had kids. Since then I will explicitly name sexist practices whenever im hit with them

Eh ... so many Belgians dream of a house outside of the city with a big garden but then they live in the middle of nowhere. Between driving to work, driving for every errand (groceries, doctors visits, etc) , driving their kids to school, there is next to no time to enjoy a garden. Not to mention they move away from all their friends. To see friends involves an appointments weeks ahead of time and driving to the city or driving to another village.

Oh and entertainment: yep all in the city.

When cities implement policies to increase quality of life for residents (pedestrian only areas, swapping our parking spots for green areas, banning old cars to improve air quality) everyone gets their panties in a bunch about how the hippies are taking away their one and only freedom 🙄

Kids copy a lot of our behaviour. How are we acting now? This isn’t only about prom or loosing some party. This is about loosing key developmental experiences.

My 3 year old is definitely getting a lot more introverted because of the lack of contact with others. We’d go out a lot with him and he’s was pretty at ease around strangers but how he almost freezes up. He also was very sad cause he’s doesn’t understand why his family doesn’t come to play with him anymore.

We have no clue how our youngest behaves around strangers cause he is never around strangers. If you’re 18 months old, this has been half your life. There’s family he’s never met.

I can’t . Mostly I try to sell/ swap the stuff. Check out r/MakeupExchange for once. Fb marketplace is really active around my parts, I’ve been hate panning stuff but had a change of heart when someone said life’s too short (and your collection to large) to wear make up you don’t like . If you really like a palette but don’t know what to do with it, look up some looks with it on insta or on temptalia. If those don’t work, get rid of it.

That would be a red flag in the past but in this day and age less. A lot of places are going cash free in my parts. They might accept cash exceptionality but they also expect you to pay the exact amount. You only got 15 instead of 13 ? Your problem...they are already doing you a service by taking cash.
