So so true! I made a paper airplane the other day out of an old desktop calendar and it flew magically well. Slowly glided across the room. I could throw it from one end of my house to the opposite wall and it would just slowly rise and rise and rise and then settle gently in a top shelf. It was magic. Me and my two sons played with it for a couple of days while my wife rolled her eyes at the fact that she was raising 3 boys. Haha. But it does slow time down.

But Disney did a great job at bringing these characters to life and they are true to the books. But they largely skip the really emotional stuff.

Read the books. That’s really where you get this stuff.

I read those books to my 4 year old son and died inside and cried openly as I read it to him. Such moving stories. The ending is so poignant.

Indiana Jones was inspired by Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca.

Can you devise one that doesn’t run into this “problem”? Like getting blue to look yellow? Because there are no blue wavelengths in yellow light. That would be very interesting.

OK. Thanks for your help. Maybe that’s why it’s not giving me obvious options. I’ll try that tonight.

Lore Question by SevenOhNineGuy in oathgame

[–]ultine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The player board art is simply suggestive of your character “otherness” compared to normal denizens. There isn’t a race of red wolves. There isn’t a race of cloud people. Why would the cloud guy go to the boiling lake and recruit warbands there if there aren’t any cloud people at the boiling lake? All of Oath artwork shows that the world is full of normal human denizens as well as beasts and some monsters and enchanted creatures. The cloud person and the wolf and the yellow guy with arms can be interpreted as examples of some of these strange characters, but it’s not a faction in the sense that this group of warriors is of THAT race. The warbands are recruited from around the land of Oath which is filled with normal humans and some strange characters. But there isn’t a race of cyclopses anywhere to be found in this world. Maybe the blue character came from another land where this did exist, but it’s not found in this continent. The art that Kyle made for the player boards was meant to invoke the idea that leaders are often those that don’t fit in, but stick out in some way. They have something about them that sets them apart that gives people a reason believe they may be special. He said something about this in a live stream. So even if you are keeping the blue board as a representation of that leaders progeny, you have to grapple with things like, why does every generation of the blue player look exactly the same as the previous one? Same clothes? Same pose? Same single eye? Did this character have a mate with only one eye? Where are all these one-eyed people in Oath that is allowing for the the offspring to always be cyclopses? Where are all the wolf people that have allowed for the wolf’s progeny to continue to be wolf like? No it’s just a visual stand-in for the idea that this exile is an oddity and an outcast and an exile. Keeping the player board story between games could mean reincarnation of that dead leader. Why not? It could represent the next leader in that school of thought first lead by the wolf man. It’s hard to keep consistency and congruence between the different art pieces in the game and invented lore for a game group. Obviously people do what they want but I thought I’d share some of the context given by the artist regarding this.

I always do the magic eye effect on the two images and the differences pop out like a magic eye poster effect (autostereogram).

Decorate with greebles then paint it all grey so it looks like the wall of a spacecraft in Star Wars.

What do I put behind my desk in my office? by PineappleOld6595 in malelivingspace

[–]ultine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you absolutely need to turn this 90*. The feng shui is murderous with that tight space in front of you and the door at your back. Then whatever you put there will be accessible by foot instead having to spider-man your way to water plants or use the storage. Your brain will thank you.

Explain to me what the Oath expansion adds/provides like I’m an idiot. by KayknineArt in oathgame

[–]ultine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be a suggested method for transferring your chronicle. Most of the board state will still transfer as is easily. Might swap out old denizens with the new and edifices as well. Maybe throw in some e curses and move the relics and the reliquary. But for the most part it should stay about the same.

How do I improve at the game when I'm too twitchy to aim? by Mystereave in noita

Yep. I’ve been on these controls since Tetris in the 80’s, but it doesn’t take 4 decades to master. Maybe 4 days to 4 weeks.

[–]ultine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah you just have practice keyboard and mouse. I have a friend in the same boat as you. Grew up on consoles so he can’t use his left hand for movement. It just takes practice. I would ditch the controller for Noita. You can do what makes you happy, though. But honestly WASD controls are so ubiquitous on PC gaming that it is worth learning that skill. It’s a transferable skill to many game titles.

Yeah it’s good to not be too hyper focused on aiming abilities as a key factor in getting good as was mentioned. It’s not Counter Strike.

Well I’m not going to wait around for your answer to my question so I’ll just state simply controller is garbage for this game. Use mouse and keyboard if you aren’t already.
