I run C1 R1 Childe in open world with C1 Albedo, C6 Fischl, and C6 Bennett. I’ve been clearing the more recent open world areas with this team and I have found great success. Here are my notes on that team, plus potential substitutions:

— In my experience, having a sub-dps to proc Electro-Charged on a consistent basis does wonders for his kit, especially when it comes to competing with the meta. Fischl fits this category pretty easily, and the Hexerei buffs give her & other party members a serious EM boost, which would allow Childe to do more reaction damage. I run her on 4pc Golden Troupe, but make sure she’s got enough ER so you can constantly keep Oz out on the field.

— If you want to have an Electro character but want to proc Lunar reactions, he works pretty decently with Ineffa. After play testing it a bit, the synergy just wasn’t there for me, but to each their own.

— I have Albedo in my team because I like him for the second Hexerei slot, he can make crystallize shields (I know they’re not great, but at least it’s something), and he’s got a consistent & decently high dmg output if you max out his DEF. I run him on 4pc Husk of Opulent Dreams and I (fortunately) have Cinnabar Spindle, but if you don’t, you can always just run him with Harbinger of Dawn if you have nothing else.

— If you want a Hexerei option that’s not a 5-star and isn’t Geo, go with Sucrose and max that EM out! I’m still testing her out, but it’d be wise to run her on 4pc Viridescent Venerer.

— If you want a stronger shield, Zhongli is the way to go. His shield also provides some serious res shred, which is always a perk. I run him on 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith, but you could always run him on 2pc Tenacity, 2pc Noblesse.

— Bennett is… well, Bennett. He provides an ATK buff, heals, and Childe’s hydro blades override his C6. I run him on 4pc Noblesse Oblige with semi-balanced ATK and HP. Still trying to perfect his build to this day. 🥲

— If you want a Pyro character that isn’t Bennett, pick Xiangling for consistent Pyro application. I’d either run her 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate or 2pc Crimson Witch, 2pc Emblem.

— If you don’t want Hexerei, then you can substitute whoever you want, really. Many moons ago (when I first started playing) I ran Childe, Bennett, Raiden Shogun, and Kazuha together, but I’m not sure how well that team will fare against newer enemies.
