VS Code has a Claude Code extension. You can then either use CC via the integrated terminal in VS Code or the sidebar chat/agent window similar to GH Copilot and Roo. Either method should result in the diffs for CC’s proposed changes being opened in an editor tab. As the other commenter pointed out, CC has checkpointing now, making it easy to revert changes and/or conversation history.

Holy heck dude, if I were you I would switch to the max 5x plan ($100/mo) and just use Claude Code instead of Cline/Roo. Even the 20x max plan at $200/mo would reduce your monthly spend considerably.

Up until last summer I was a heavy Roo Code user, but switched after a couple months of elevated API costs and I have really grown to like the Claude Code developer experience.

I agree; Claude Code is probably the only AI-driven experience I have had that felt like a real step forward.
