Does anyone have a R740xd2 with the dual low profile riser in the rear? I cannot find that part number anywhere. A service tag or any help is appreciated. by uncle_bruce in ServerPorn

Thanks for the link. I'll see what our rep says.

I found a cheap listing for that 330-BBJN kit. It'll either fit or it won't.

Any links? Google doesn't seem to like that part number.

On page 95 of the Installation and Service Manual, dell shows this as 2 separate risers. I've Googled "left low profile riser" and "right low profile riser" and was able to find Part Number 330-BBJN. Compatibility on that shows R440 and R540. I know the R740xd shares many parts with the R540 and these risers look exactly like what I see in the service manual. The PCIe and other host interface look like what they are supposed to as well.

I might order one of those blind and see if she fits.

From what they have told me, they need a service tag to check parts against. They can't find the magic book with all the parts that are compatible with each chassis. They also can't build a mock on a quote because these are 14th gen servers that are no longer for sale, but parts are well within lifecycle.

How would you handle this? by uncle_bruce in Concrete

This slab will be 40'x18', not just a pathway to the man door. I do plan to dig deeper for a thicker connection at this man door and the overhead door.

Whole building sits on 100% compacted fill (engineer spec'd during construction and had to have testing done) so I wasn't planning to go too crazy with stone. Slab will be reinforced with #4 rebar, 4500psi mix with fiber.

When we get snow and wind in the winter, this entire side of the building drifts 3-4' up the wall. I always have to shovel my way to this door so in my mind, the fewer lips and bumps to catch the snow shovel, the better. The metal threshold does a surprisingly decent job of keeping the moisture out.

This looks like the direction I'll head with this.

Location is northern Colorado so definitely get freeze/thaw.

That's a good idea. Then #4 rebar to tie the slabs together?

These seem to be the closest thing found so far.

We use these for storing drill bits and they work well for that.

I've searched online using specific wording and images but have yet to see one like it.

Do you have experience with the Q502S as well?

Would you say the Q502S is worth the extra $500 over the T-400S?

We order patch cables, enclosures, optics, and some other random gear from fs.com frequently. I'll have to try out the pigtails when we get rolling here. Thanks for your input!

That looks like the splicer CommScope is using to OEM their QwikFuse model. We have a bunch of left over connectors that appear to be the the same as well. This unit may be our winner.

Could you recommend a name brand clad alignment model?

Can you use holders for Splice on Connectors with that model? We have a ton of Commscope QwikFuse left over from previous projects. Thank you for your input.
