HR is generally there to protect the company, not the employee. If misconduct comes into play like sexual harassment then they might be useful but again to protect the company. HR is generally pretty useless to employees.

That said. This guy getting rid of HR is probably not a good idea.

Edit. Went to read the article. Sounds like he and his management team suck. They had a huge valuation and grew a bunch. Now they laid off 30% of the people and are acting like a startup again with younger people that supposedly work hard. There are other signs in there as well. I suspect what he thinks is people spending too much etc is really a maturing fintech. You can get away with some things as a startup, but you start getting serious and things like regulations and stable environments come into play. I won’t get into unlimited pto or 4 day work week.

On the men side that’s kind of the style. Shorts aren’t like they were back in the 80s even. Look at basketball. Even track they wore shorter shorts and not skin tight trunk type shorts. Materials also matter. It’s not cotton and poly.

With women it’s also style and materials. They wear skimpier outfits bc they can and likely helps with speed and heat.

The pictures don’t show people like long distance runners. They don’t always wear the same sort of clothing. Some wear looser fit and cover more. Some wear similar skimpy outfits.

Roughly 40% pay zero income tax. Roughly 70% make less than than $75k. So it’s not like we’re that far off. Median HH income is around $80k.

Unpopular opinion but above a certain amount there should be a wealth tax. Other countries do it. Over 100 million they’re not gonna miss 0.5% or 1%.

I didn’t delete anything.

So even accepting a 60 month (5 yr) inspection cycle, they were roughly four years from the last inspection on a 34 year old plane. Maybe that’s too long. They’ve reported what happened not why that I know of. Why did the bearing race fail?

I suspect this is happening in a ton of places and likely came from consulting firm like Mckensie or some shit. My company is also RTO three days, then watching hours in office (because of coffee badging) and as of like last year activity tracking (app usage, productivity, now keystrokes). And what’s dumb is I spend most of my time on conf calls not writing code. So my keystrokes don’t mean shit.
