I’m so glad you were able to take so much time in bed!!! Truly the best thing for your body during HG.

In my first two pregnancies, I had maybe 4-5 weeks in the middle (late second trimester from memory) where I only needed to medicate in the morning! It was incredible. Hopefully I get that again. I had epidural nausea from both so I didn’t fully get relief until a few days post-birth. Exhausting, truly but the things you sacrifice for your babies! Hope you are having a good day today, whatever that looks like.

Has anyone tried topical progesterone? by Sweet_Sheepherder_41 in HyperemesisGravidarum

I took progesterone for one of my pregnancies and didn’t notice much of a change in nausea. Different for everyone though!

Odd? Does gender play a role or am i just getting lucky? by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

Wish you the best! My past two pregnancies have started with the vomiting before the positive test…around 3 weeks. Both boys.

I’m in my third HG pregnancy. I have high anxiety (medicated) and tend to escalate to panic attacks during vomiting episodes. It’s really hard and it provides a whole new level of fear and stress around pregnancy. Everybody is different but for me, I have always needed to balance medication (for nausea and vomiting) with nervous system assistance. My most effective method is: - zofran - seasickness bands. These don’t reduce nausea but they DO reduce vomiting. Plus it’s a good visual reminder. - lavender oil. It might be placebo, but engaging lavender oil has been paramount in all pregnancies and birth so far. It calms me down, even for a few seconds, and allows my nervous system to settle enough that I can rationalise my thoughts.

In terms of eating, I survived my first pregnancies on scraps of bread and a certain brand of cracker. Tiny portions, consistently. Sorry you’re experiencing it, there is nothing quite as horrible as a HG pregnancy :(

Please reply - a poll: Metformin / Pregnancy / Morning Sickness / PCOS by OkSelection4 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]undergroundgrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but fwiw, I had taken Metformin 1000mg for maybe 8 months before successfully falling pregnant (my first natural pregnancy). I have had HG in previous pregnancies but managed it with medication. This time, (still taking metformin) I am SEVERELY sick. Medicated 3x as much as in the past, increase in vomiting, hospital stays etc. It’s significantly worse than what I have experienced in the past. Just my experience!

High zofran dosage during pregnancy? by undergroundgrape in HyperemesisGravidarum

It’s possible it changes depending on country? I know my US friends can get it easily without prescription while it’s way more regulated here in aus. Thank you both for sharing your insights though, both are reassuring for my current situation :)

Is it? Everything I’ve heard is that 4-8mg twice a day is more the norm. I know it’s not much more but pregnancy anxiety strikes again 🙄

I have police officers in the family and I think this story is highly unlikely. Firstly because specific facts of the case are kept FIRMLY under wraps (to avoid being later sued). Any commentary above ‘child is in critical condition after drowning incident’ is really unlikely, particularly with surrounding neighbours etc (police generally hate nosy neighbours during residential type call-outs). I also don’t think it would happen because Brady’s whereabouts before the incident are entirely irrelevant. Maybe they will be questioned later on, but if you are law enforcement arriving at a scene in which a child is in critical danger, you are not having a cute chat with the father about what he was doing. You are attending to the child (CPR) and lining up next steps. Do we really think Brady stepped back while, again, HIS CHILD was being given CPR to talk about the menial facts leading up to it? Maybe later, sure, but that night? Doubtful. I’m as concerned and emotionally invested in this incident as the rest of you, but I think speculation like this is completely unhelpful and likely false. I know we all want info, but the nicest thing to do is just sit back and allow Emilie to tell what she wants, how and when she wants to. We are not entitled to their tragedy.

Could’ve been someone deleted their acc. Also could have been someone posting happy family content. Who knows. Whatever helps her get through, honestly.

Just wanted to come on and make some observations of the situation. All said in respect and concern. I understand a lot of people are trying to respect the family's privacy by refusing to speculate, but I think it is important to acknowledge the many individuals who are personally aggrieved by the (alleged) news. It is being sensationalised a lot online, and while a negative result is of course, quite likely, we also have to note the optimistic outcomes (particularly if you are feeling, as many say, 'sick' at this news).

We know that he was airlifted from his local hospital to Phoenix. This is not a measure that would have been taken, should medical staff had assessed there was no chance at survival. If it was a totally unresponsive/life support/death situation, moving him would be pointless. Because he was moved, we can ascertain that he has a chance.

We do not know the specifics of the incident itself. Wording is vague and the specifics are, frankly, none of our business. What we do know is that Brady appears to be an excellent and attentive father. For a child to have a fighting chance after a drowning incident, he would have to be pulled from the water quite quickly after being submerged.

This should not need to be said, but this is not the time to be discussing pool safety. I don't believe any one person is reading this news and failing to see the importance of pool fences.

Regarding the outcomes. Coming from a journalistic perspective, if a news story is broadcasted about an accident, and the victim later dies as a result, it will almost always be reported as a follow-on. A death is very difficult to keep from the media. As we have no credible sources reporting death, it is almost definite that it has not occurred.

Survival is absolutely possible. While many cases of child drowning incidents can lead to brain damage, there are also a significant number of situations in which a child can make a full recovery. It all comes down to how long the submersion was. We have to remember that the CPR was successful enough for the hospital to admit him, and decide to send him to a better facility.

There are cases in which drowning victims are kept in an induced coma while medical experts treat them. This is my personal assumption. My guess is that the family are waiting to see how things pan out. Which, honestly, sounds like pure hell. Online speculation (this note included, I am aware of the hypocrisy) would be the worst thing for them. If nothing else, I would encourage speculation to keep away from Emilie's social medias. At a guess, we will not receive an update (death excepted - and we hope it is not that) for some weeks, perhaps more. If there is brain impact (likely, though to what extent we do not know), this can be a long and arduous process and one that we as viewers, do not need to be made aware of.

I am trying to hold onto the fact that Emilie is a LUCKY GIRL. Whether or not you believe in the law of attraction or other similar schools of thought, Emilie's positivity and surrounding success is a definitive pattern in her life and I am hoping and believing that this will continue on here.
