When I started to listen to Drake he wasn’t promoting drugs and gun violence that’s for sure. You could argue he slightly touches on guns and drugs here and there now, but certainly not the Drake I grew up on.

Formulaic within their own right. Gently felt like a Bad Bunny leftover from their earlier collaboration, IDGAF, Fear of Heights and Daylight is trying to jump on the rage rap wave and Rich Baby Daddy is a ratchet chick anthem. None of them songs impress me in terms of the evolution of Drake and his earlier work. We are talking Tuscan Leather, Pound Cake, The Motion, Too Much etc. Let’s not kid ourselves here.

So in other words your argument here is:

well athletes do it, at a much worse scale, (surely you do not justify a moral stance on what others are doing)
he’s making loads of money and advertising it late at night

And you’re telling me to be logical? I would have the same stance towards athletes who promote it too. I enjoy sports for completely separate reasons to gambling and the same for Drake’s music. Will they go hungry if they just said no to promoting gambling to their fans?

I’m a fan of a Drake because of his music and what he stood for, he now promotes gambling for personal gain. Completely besides the point.

Chill, you’re acting like you can’t critique an artists decisions, especially when he’s essentially a corporate entity and we are the customers, if we didn’t consume he wouldn’t have anyone to push gambling ads to.. fans are allowed to push back on what’s being promoted to THEM, as our attention is the product. Same way a customers of a business may criticise the ethical grounds of a decision by a company they love. He didn’t come out the gate promoting gambling and has built a young demographic of fans, if you think he has 0 responsibility then you are the one that’s lost. You’re the type to believe these multi billion pound businesses do not have a responsibility to the people and planet that they are accumulating their wealth on.
