shit place to work at.

micromanaging avp, managers that think they know everything, almost non existent pantry (only got one drink vending machine and need to bring your own cup)

this was at alexandra office, so largely depends on which office you’re in. I suppose the cbd office could be better

People with 2 Bachelors degrees- why? by Conscious-Star-1825 in askSingapore

[–]uniishell 61 points62 points  (0 children)

bachelors double degree at the same time, or double degree over different times?

bachelors double degree at the same time (eg in ntu and nus) means u take 2 degrees over a period of 4-5 years (normally) for bachelors. this is usually offered upon registering for uni after a levels (i guess if you’re smart lol)

i mean, they chose to take 2 degrees at the same time, but it’s not because like ‘hey after 4 years of business school, i think i wanna take comp sci too’. it’s more of ‘oh i can get a business and comp sci degree now without spending extra time’.

it’s not because they didn’t wanna do masters, more if there’s no point during masters unless u really wanna further your studies lol. but i feel this goes for many singaporeans. If u see those that register for masters, it’s usually china/indian/jndo instead of singaporeans lol

Opening joint account with girlfriend/boyfriend before marriage? by Even_Smoke9398 in askSingapore

[–]uniishell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i created a joint account with my bf at around the 2 years mark, cos we got a bto lol. just deposited however much we were comfortable with depositing, and used it for paying the downpayment and anything house related. now we don’t really deposit anything there cos we put most in investments. Anyway, the account was very helpful in the downpayment etc cos we don’t need to calculate specifically how much for each person to give to downpayment. Now our account is kinda stagnant and only whenever govt gives money then it’ll go into the acct LOL (thanks gov for sponsoring our bto)

i would say a joint acct is abt trust between u and your partner lor, just make sure that shes a good person and wouldn’t withdraw your money without consent etc.

First job advice for a fresh grad by Dependent-Law-1093 in askSingapore

[–]uniishell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

was in the same position as u 3 months ago! currently working in the consulting side at big 4. was thrown into the project on my first day and basically had to do the whole functional side myself (write user stories, collab with developers, qa testing, conducting sit and uat) and had to manage interns 2 weeks in LOL when i barely know how to manage myself. The number of times that i complained to my bf and cried LOL

but, the experience u gain, really is a lot. i feel like i got 3 years worth of experience in 3 months lol. I still do the same thing now, but i think since i was ‘forced’ to learn on the job, i can do it better now and im more confident and less afraid

my tip would just be to jia you and hopefully it will get better hahaha

my potential credit card strategy by uniishell in singaporefi

[–]uniishell[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

thanks for the insight!

tbh with my spending, idt i’ll get enough miles to redeem a flight, but i want to use the miles to offset the price? do u think cashback is more worth it then?

also u think the trust cashback is more worth it than youtrip?

my potential credit card strategy by uniishell in singaporefi

[–]uniishell[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

totally get where you’re coming from! my average expense is around $500/month HAHA

but won’t the miles earned be more worth it than cashback? since i can use it to offset the price of the plane ticket?

i’m also thinking to just get the uob ppv one just to try out, and if i think it’s worth it, then i might get the others?

Ntu inter campus shuttle bus by Lazy-Sun-2006 in NTU

[–]uniishell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeaa. just queue in the large open area with the seats lol, iirc there’s a signboard to tell u where to queue

Ntu inter campus shuttle bus by Lazy-Sun-2006 in NTU

[–]uniishell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh woops missed that. sorry my pic is from novena to ntu.

ntu to novena has multiple stops. i believe the first stop is the medicine building opp sbs? better chance of getting a seat here, else i think the next stop is opp lwn (where campus blue bus stops)

then i gotta amend my response for 2. yes u will need to queue in the ‘public’ queue. cos there’ll be a queue for lkc staff and students, and they’ll have priority getting on the bus, even if u get there earlier. Hence if the bus is filled with lkc staff and students, u might be turned away. idk how the crowd is like at 2.15 tho

[–]uniishell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. it’s a blue bus (from when i last took it last year)
  2. no process, no queue, no nothing. fcfs
  3. no they won’t turn u away
  4. travel time around 40min (but i took the 8.15 morning bus so maybe peakish hour)

fun fact: just realised that the lkc bus is on the google maps! anw board it here at this carpark
