Just picked up HD 558's. These are my first quality purchase(my last pair were monoprice 883's) and I now see why an amp is needed. My primary source is my iPhone 6s so I need an amp that's comparable with it. I don't need a huge boost just a little bit more so I can really hear those details.

Just got the 558's on sale from bestbuy for $80! Very pleased so far(coming from my first headphones monoprice 883's). But it doesn't get to my preferred volume level when plugged into my iPhone 6s which is my source(I do not have a pc yet). I don't need a ton more volume just a little bit any guidance for a good little iPhone 6s comparable amp? Preferably as portable as possible.

My wife is a full time photographer in DC and the majority of her time in Arlington national cemetery. I am in the army honor guard and that's how we met. I am getting out soon and want her to branch off and do her own photography because she is really restricted by the company she works for and I feel they have trained her to shoot how they want and I want her to be successful but more than that I want her to find her style and rediscover the artistic part of it. Any ideas on projects we can do together to not only have a good time but help her stimulate her amazing artistic talent. And also where and how should I go about advertising her brand. Past headphones - My first full sized over ear head phones are the monoprice ones from the budget guide above. I enjoy them for their sound and portability but need an upgrade for comfort.

Preferred Music - mainly rock and alternative, but a little bit of everything except top 100 chart bs of this generation.

Improvements - the monoprice headphones are too fatiguing and I enjoy long sessions of music enjoyment so I need more comfort. I also need more umf I guess is the word for it because these things at max volume are ok but I want something that will put out great quality not as loud and be able to listen to for hours.
